Too Much Free Time ...

I told my beloved that I wasn't going to post anything today but then I had loads of free time on my hands this afternoon and was doing some surfing ... urmmm ... research on the net ... hehehe ... and came across more of these pretty slick advertising gimmicks. I especially like the paper bag idea about reaching out to children with autism, I think it's simply excellent :) The second one I have absolutely no idea what it was about, but i thought it was funny :)

Removing a Curse

I found this to be an absolute riot :)

An old man goes to a wise old wizard to ask him if he can remove a curse he has been living with for the last 40 years.

The wizard says, "Maybe, but you will have to tell me the exact words that were used to put the curse on you."

The old man replies without hesitation, "I now pronounce you man and wife."

The Road From Hell ...

I was out for an appointment this morning and on the way back, I decided to take a road back to the office which I haven't traveled on for close to 4 years or so, just for variety sake. And you would think that after 4 years or so the road would have gotten better (it was horribly potholed with tons of uneven surfaces back then) but to my utter surprise, the road is exactly the same if not worse, as it was 4 years ago! It was like driving through a war zone with large craters on the road! My car went through a work out it would never forget and I was afraid the doors or wheels would pop out! That's the last time I'm gonna do things for variety's sake. Best to stick to routine sometimes, at least then you won't be taken by surprise. Gee, I can still feel my bones vibrating from all that bouncing around just now :)

Fine Dining It May Not Be ...

The picture you see was actually my lunch this afternoon. It's just simple fried rice with eggs, sausages, spring onions and some anchovies in it and while it may not seem like much but to me it tasted real good cos it was lovingly whipped up in a space of 4 minutes by my beloved :) I happened to be in the vicinity of my home this afternoon and decided to drop by and see how things were going with the kids on school holidays and I was complaining of hunger pangs (as I always do) and like the wonderful woman that she is, she immediately went down and whipped up that simple yet tasty lunch for me :) She's a wonderful cook by the way. That ever increasing waistline that you see is all your fault honey! LOL.

Duracell Powered Escalator!

Picked this off the net somewhere. Pretty slick advertising done by Ogilvy Malaysia for Duracell KL. What a novel way to portray the power of a Duracell battery. How I wish all clients were open to ideas like this. I know of clients who would scream bloody murder at concepts like this for the simple fact that it's bad luck to step on one's brand name! What nonsense. It's no surprise how bad the state of advertising is here in Malaysia.

A Beautiful Sunday :)

Ahh, what a sunday :) Slept in till bout 9 plus (I know that's not really sleeping in, but with two kids, 9 plus is the best I can do), then took the kids and wife out for breakfast, came home, lazed around for a bit, then went out to a nearby shopping complex to window shop, but ended up buying some stuff and now I'm back home again. Decided to write a few lines before I go take a nap, nice weather for a nap, kinda cloudy but then again, for me any weather is nice weather for napping :)

This is one weekend in a long time that I actually enjoyed without the burden of having to bring work home to complete. The past couple of weeks was pretty hectic for me and I'm glad that phase is over for now. At least weekends will be more enjoyable for awhile:)

The kids are on their urrrmm 2 week school break and I'm sure they're gonna drive the wife up the wall thinking how to keep them busy and out of trouble. Those two, well one of them anyway, always comes up with some mischievous scheme a minute :) Sorry honey, you're on your own when when I get back to work tomorrow :) Together, the two of them are a handful to handle and I'm sure my beloveds gonna be stressed out till school starts again. LOL! Ok, time to go get that nap I was talking about. Till later, have a great Sunday.

Can Yuo Raed Tihs?

I was just randomly surfing through blog sites today (yeah, yeah, I know I should be working ... hehehe) and I came across this post that was kind cool. All those years of trying to make sure my spelling was perfect and stuff. All those hours of sifting through proposals and presentation material to make sure there were no spelling mistakes just so I could impress the clients and this post I read made it all seem pointless .... hehehe .... carry on reading and you'll see what I mean :)

Party Time :)

It was party time in the office today. It was my boss' birthday and we threw her a birthday party. In fact my office throws birthday parties for everyone and every year we all act surprised when it's done for us ... hehehe ... at least the person organizing it gets some satisfaction out of it. Besides it's always nice to be thrown a surprise party, ya even though it's not such a surprise anymore :) Anyway, everyone enjoyed themselves even though the menu consisted of three KFC buckets (with the full works of side orders and all) and a nice Chocolate birthday cake from Bakers Cottage. Didn't get a single piece of the cake though, my gluttony colleagues wolfed it down before I could get any, but no loss anyway cos I'm not a cake person. Did manage to get some chicken though before those pigs (LOL) got their greedy paws on it.

At least today wasn't such a total bore, work started flowing back in to my desk and I was so damned relieved to be doing something again! I know it sounds strange coming from me to actually be happy to have work to do, what with all the complains I post about how much of work I have and all that. I'm a strange person, when I have work, I complain, when I don't have work, I complain. In fact people who know me well can testify that I complain just about everything under the sun ... hehehe ... not too mention that I just can't stop talking. My best buddy calls me a motor mouth and a host of other names that are way too impolite to be posted here (though he'll deny it ... hehehe).

Wow, look at the time. It's about time to pack up and head home. Need to do some grocery shopping today at our favourite friendly neigbourhood hypermarket. I have two perpetually hungry kids (me included) and the food doesn't last too long in the fridge with us around :) So, till my next post, have a beautiful rest of the day or what's left of it anyway.

Slow, Boring Monday ...

Its been a pretty slow Monday morning so far. Hope it stays that way the whole day :) Had some urgent stuff to do this morning but once that was out of the way, things got back to being pretty dull. I do have to head out later in the afternoon for an appointment but that shouldn't take too long. In fact, I'm looking forward to the appointment, at least it'll give me something to do besides sitting here being absolutely unproductive.

The weekend wasn't something to shout about either. Had a misunderstanding, well I wouldn't really call it a misunderstanding but I can't think of a better word for it, with my beloved but we managed to sit and sort it out like we always do. That's the best thing about our relationship, we can always sit and talk about stuff that irks us. We both believe that communication is very important in a relationship for it to last and we make damn well sure we practice it. Anyway, we sorted whatever it was that was troubling us and things were back to normal :) The rest of the weekend was kinda lackluster, stayed home and slept most of time ... hehehe ...

Here's looking forward to a more exciting week :)

Fluke BioMedical!

I was at church this morning, waiting for the kids to finish Sunday school when I came across this guy with a T-shirt advertising this company called 'Fluke BioMedical'. It made me wonder if all their biomedical products are discovered by chance :) Hope the guy doesn't sue me or anything for snapping his pix without his knowledge!

Man Push Cart.

Well, its been an incredibly boring day. Not that I'm complaining about it though. I could do with a lot more of these boring days :) All I did was sit on my butt all day long. I'm just waiting to go home actually, waiting for that incredibly slow moving clock to hit 6pm and I'm out of here. Sounds like thunder out there. Hope it doesn't rain until I get home, not that it matters anyway cos I live about 5 minutes away. There are its pro's and con's about living so near the office like you're always expected to be in early to open the blooming doors every morning, not that it bothers me cos I always get in early. It's a habit I picked up since the first day I started working. Never liked getting to work late unless of course some unforeseen thing happens and I get stuck somewhere.

Man, my stomach's growling with hunger, strange cos I did grab lunch with my beloved this afternoon. I guess it must be in anticipation of the dinner menu she has prepared for today :) Sweet & sour chicken .... yummy :) I can smell it oredi ... hehehe ...

Just in case you're wondering what the heck the title above has to do with this posting, well, it really doesn't mean a thing at all. Just couldn't figure out what title to put for this post ... LOL.

Unbelievable

Gosh, would you believe I'm actually free the whole afternoon? This hasn't happened in long time and I'm going to enjoy it while I can :) But it feels so strange having so much free time on my hands and not knowing what to do with it. In fact, it feels sinful even ... hehehe ...

It's been a pretty cold and nice morning, had a quick presentation to do this morning for a client, then picked up my other half for an early lunch of chicken rice at our favourite Chinese restaurant across the road from where we stay and headed back to the office to find absolutely no work whatsoever waiting for me :) I could really get used to this but I'm sure this is not gonna last for long cos I know there's a new project coming in next week from this new account we just secured from the Banking sector and I'm sure it's gonna give me sleepless nites once we start working on it. But then, that's a story for another day.

I really have no idea what to do after posting this. If I was the kind who bums off, I'd head home and spend time with my beloved but then I'd feel guilty about bumming off (bet my good buddy would be rolling on the floor in laughter about my bumming off statement ... hehehe). Well, that's it from me for now, time to go get bored!

I've been invited by fellow blogger Marzie to join her on this Alexa Train thingy. I'm not sure how this works but I'll be damned if I'm gonna be the one who derails this train :)

Blind as a Bat :)

My beloveds blind as a bat rite now and you know why? Well, this afternoon, after doing the laundry, she was hanging the clothes to out to dry and left her glasses on the roof of my car. It so happened that I had to rush out to see someone at that very moment and she totally forgot about the glasses on my roof. So, I drove off and I guess somewhere down the road it must have flown off and she didn't realise it was missing till later this evening when wanted to watch TV. And without her glasses, everything on TV is a blur to her, so we had to like pull the couch 3" infront of the TV to watch it. Man, I've never seen my TV that close up before ... hehehe ... Well, until she get a new pair, we're gonna be fronting that TV up close and personal. After discovering that it was lost, I actually went out and walked the route I drove to see if I could recover the glasses but no such luck. Well, she did want to get a new pair anyway but was putting it off, so I guess now she has no choice but to go and get a new one. Till then honey, hopefully you can still see me ... hehehe ...

Happy Mommies Day!

If you don't already know it (where have you been living?) it's Mothers Day today and I'd like to wish all mommies out there, especially my beloved and my own mom, a happy mommies day. I know it's really not easy being a mom what with having to raise a difficult pampered child like me ... hehehe ... but I guess a mothers love knows no bounds or else I would have been given up for adoption or something all those years ago ... LOL. And to you my beloved, I know it's hard like hell being a mom to those those bratty kids but you sure are a really great mom to them. I know they drive you up the wall 24-7 (and me as well ... hehehe) but you still love and take care of them no matter what, so they'd better remember all your sacrifices when they grow older! No matter how much you 'membebel' (nag) at them all day, you still get up every morning (while I'm snoozing away) to prepare them breakfast before school, then lunch and also dinner for them day in and day out. And on behalf of the kids, I'd like to wish you a great Mothers day. Today you just lay back and relax and let me handle the chores and the kids. After all you deserve it (no guarantees the house won't be a mess with me in charge ... hehehe)

Stray Kitties Up For Adoption ...

My good buddy has this bunch of kittens (pictured left) taking up shelter in his (of all places) dog house (he doesn't really own a dog btw). Those kittens have been driving him nuts and being the kind soul that he is, he just can't find it in his heart to get rid of them. So he's putting them for adoption ... hehehe ... Well, I'm no animal lover, and after stepping on their poo when I was at his house this afternoon, it really didn't endear me to them at all, cute as they may seem. Felt like making 'catsup' (pun intended) out of them ... hehehe ... just kidding. Anyway want few noisy kittens, then drop him a line. Check his story on the history of these so called 'intruders' in his blog First Time Dad

Yawnnnn 2, The Sequel.

It's 3am in the morning and here I am again still wide awake, not by choice anyway. Needed to get some stuff done for a client that's due first thing tomorrow morning. I'm getting too old for this crap. There was a time when I could stay awake till 3-4am in the morning and get up for work at 8am with hardly any problems. Nowadays, even if I do go to bed at 10pm, I'd have to force myself out of bed the next morning. Oh, how I long for my youth! Right now, my body aches in every conceivable postion and I have this persistent back ache thats been bugging me for the past 4 days now. I'm getting kinda worried. Normally any back aches that I have clears up in a day or so. This one just seems to get worse everyday. Maybe it's caused by my workload the past couple of days. Probably pop some painkillers tomorrow (if I'm not too lazy or busy to get some). Ok, it's time to get some sleep or I'm gonna be totally not in sync with the world tomorrow.

Yawnnnnnn ...

It's 3 am and I'm still working on this freaking annual report! Man, I'm definitely gonna be feeling zombie like later today and that's not gonna help my already busy day ahead. On top of this already delayed AR, all my other clients decide to want to get some urgent stuff done, and all at the same time at that! I honestly think they secretly conspire somewhere to make life for us in the advertising industry feel like hell on earth! Gee, I'm a grouch when I lack sleep, then again, I'm always a grouch ... hehehe ...

My other half's fast asleep and I just feel like dumping this work and joining her. I'll just make up some 'aliens ate your annual report draft' or something for the client tomorrow :) Okay, time to hit the sack. Good nite folks or is that a good morning?

The lesser of two evils ...

Well, it finally happened. MU won the league, not that I'm particularly pleased about it but better them than Chelsea I say :) What's that saying again? The lesser of the the two evils. I know my other half is probably celebrating rite now ... hehehe ... we're both on the opposite side of the fence when it comes to sports. I'm into Arsenal and McLaren, she's into MU and Ferrari, so you can imagine how it is in the living room when we watch these two sports live ... LOL. Well, I'll let her bask in the glory of MU's win. Congrat's to all you MU fans out there, remember, as insignificant as it may seem, Arsenal did you guys a favour by hold Chelsea to a draw so you could clinch the premiership title earlier ... hehehe ... Ok, now its back to work for me. Working on this project, an annual report really, and its driving me nuts. Had to work on it all weekend as well. I hate Annual Reports .... arrggghhh !!!!

A Malaysian Obsession

I was reading in the papers this afternoon about some series of sky diving stints in the north pole by a group of Malaysians from a political party trying to break some record or something and it got me thinking that people in Malaysia spend money on absolutely nonsensical issues just to be in some record book. The highest, biggest, longest, tallest this and that. It's an obsession with people here. For me, I think the money involved in trying to get in the record books could be used for more important and necessary issues (there's just too many to list here). Don't get me wrong, I love living here in Malaysia and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else (well, maybe in Scotland perhaps... hehehe) but I can't for the life of me see what significance there is in organising a jump in the north pole for some 'Mat Rempits' (Illegal motorcycle racers)? My beloved said maybe they should organize a jump into a volcano to see if they can get in the records books for the longest time spent in a raging volcano and I'm inclined to agree with her on that :) I'm actually looking forward to seeing what other nonsensical record breaking feat they're gonna think of next. Malaysia Boleh :)

Long Live Liverpool! (Today only ...)

I'm no Liverpool supporter as my previous blogs would testify, but I could rite now go out and kiss every Liverpool fan for having their team hammer those misbegotten useless Chelsea dogs! Just for today, I shall join in the celebration with all Liverpool fans (yeah, dude, that's you). At least that was some good news for the holidays. OK, now I gotta go appease my rumbling tummy. My darling's gonna cook me some instant noodles with eggs in it (she knows just the way I want it ... hehehe). OK, congrats Liverpool, for today we're frens, for tomorrow, you're back to being my rival :)
