The King Is No More!

There was a time, not too long ago when I could eat like there was no tomorrow. That time is long gone ... sob, sob, sob! What am I sobbing about like a some sissy boy you might ask. Well let me go into my long winded mode and explain ... LOL!

This afternoon after the boys Sunday school classes which resumed today and first day of Sunday school classes can be just as bad as first day at school with all the parents clamouring outside their kids classes and kids running here and there and every which way. Anyway, that's a post for another day.

So, after their class was over wifey and me decided to go to our favourite mall, well, not really favourite just that it's near our house and isn't really as crowded as the rest. We needed to get something from our favourite hardware store, Ace Hardware (now, this one is both wifey's and my favourite hardware shop). We just love hanging around here and besides I needed to get some stuff there anyway.

So after spending a hour or so at the store, we wanted to have lunch cos we were all hungry as we didn't eat much during breakfast today. As always we walked around the mall trying to figure out what to eat and then wifey suggested for us to try out the Hartz Chicken Buffet Restaurant. We've been wanting to there for quite sometime anyway and chicken is on my all time favourite food list. What could be better for lunch than an all you can eat chicken restaurant, right? And we got a pleasant surprise too when my younger boy got to eat free cos of some promo they were having :D

So once we were seated, I gleefully head to the buffet table to pile on my food. I just love these all you can eat buffets. And the variety of chicken dishes they had on offer was not bad, so I took one of every variety they had. I used to be king of these all you can eat buffets, well, not anymore it seems. By the time I finished my first round of food I was already full! In fact I even had difficulties finishing the first round. How in heavens name am I going to go for seconds, let alone thirds and fourths? But I wasn't going to give up. Once I was done with the first round I head for my second and this time I really couldn't eat anymore. I was playing with my food, slowly chewing (which is something I hardly do, chewing that is) my food just to finish what was on my plate (which wasn't really all that much, mind you).

I was sooooo dejected. What happened to my superpowers of eating like a pig? (well, I considered it a superpower ok? LOL) I've lost it! I'm doomed, doomed to eternal damnation! There was a time I could really make the most of these buffet spreads and eat the place down. Ask my best buddy Adrian. He knows how much I can eat in one sitting. There was once we went for this all you can eat pizza meal and between us I think we ate at least 7-8 large pizza's! It came to a point where the waiters who were bringing out the pizza slices started to ignore the 2 of us ... LOL! And now I can't even go for seconds! I was seriously so full after my second serving that I just sat there and watch the boys and wifey eat. Well, at least they enjoyed themselves, the boys especially, getting to pig out like that.

Oh well, I guess it'll be ala carte meals for me from now on seeing as how I can't eat like I used too. At least the rest of the day was pretty good. I did managed to get myself some weird junk food for later tonight though. It's not something I usually get but it called out to me when we were at the supermarket. It's this strange looking biscuit sticks and I don't know why but I just had to get it ... LOL! Check it out in the picture below. The two tidbits on the left and right are mine and the book and biscuit thingy in the middle are wifeys. I've been meaning to get her a book for quite sometime so today I just asked her to pick out one she likes and she chose that one. There's a lost more of that series that she bought so I guess I'll be getting more of those books for her ... hehehe ...

Oh and Marzie wanted to see a picture of my cute Michelin boy. Unfortunately he didn't allow me to take his whole image. He only said that if I wanted to post a picture of him, I cannot under any circumstances show his face. And I couldn't like do it quietly cos he also reads both wifeys and my blog at times. And I didn't dare piss him off cos he has such a temper, that boy ... LOL! So after some negotiation he allowed me to take a picture of his belly. And behold I present to you Michelin Boy's bouncy belly ... LOL!

Oh and by the way, I know this is absolutely a shameless thing to do in squeezing in my assignments like this but please go check out this site about travel health insurance if you're planning to travel in the near future ... LOL! Happy Sunday folks!

  4. Gypsy - In a way it's a good thing I can't eat all that much now, but it sure seemed like a waste of good all you can eat money ... LOL!

  5. hhhmm...I think it has something with how Hartz Chicken Buffet cooks I think. They make the food so rich with junk (eg. oil) that you simply cant eat too much of it. We have Hartz here too in Kuching. When they just started, I think they almost go bankrupt with all the giants in Kuching eating like there is no tomolo. But they got a consultant in and the food start to change and somehow you can never eat too much of anything there!

  8. Jenjen - You have got to be kidding me. You mean they tinker with the food so people don't eat all that much? No wonder I was full after the first round! LOL! Well, if that's the case, they're a bunch of unscrupulous people and I'm not going there again. But the food was pretty good though I must say ...

Hartz actually serve pretty decent chicken stuff just that I'm way to old for buffets like this, unlike the old days where we both could pig out till the cows came home ... Those were good tim weren't they bud? :D

  12. Marzie - yeah, you're right but it's such a shame to waste good money on all you can eats and not actually be able to eat all the food ... LOL!

He doesn't really read our blogs but he's always beside us checking it out when we're online and if he sees his picture with his exposed tummy I'm done for, hence the deal with him ... LOL!

He is a smart kid, just really really really mischievous ... :D
