Christines Evil Twin!

It's only Monday and my week is already screwed! And just why is that? Well, my lovely, wonderful, nice, beautiful car decided to make me spend more money on it by giving me grief! I positively, definitely, sincerely HATE that car. I think it's sole purpose in life is to make me spend money on it every blooming month!

You know, that car has a blooming mind of it's own. When it works, it'll work fine for years with no problems. But when it decides to break down, I won't hear the end of it. I think most of you who've been reading my blog knows that my car started acting up since last December and I've practically had to baby it all through the months of December and January. It kept going in and out the mechanic shop that I thought maybe I should ask my mechanic for some shares in his company.

Well, I thought I finally had that problem sorted out but today it starts acting up again. I was on the way out for a presentation at one of my clients place and everything was fine on the way there. It was only after the presentation and on the journey back to my office that my car decides to die on me everytime I stop at the traffic lights. I don't know, maybe it's some new fangled way my car decided to save me fuel by shutting it's engine down every time I stop or something but I sure as hell wasn't too pleased with it.

So, with no choice, I nurse the car to my mechanic to get it fixed and it cost me some good money that I was not too happy to part with. Oh well, at least it's finally fixed! I wonder what it has planned next. I swear that car is out to get me. I can picture it laughing evilly away everytime I have to spend money on it. It's probably the twin of that car in Stephen Kings horror novel, Christine. I think in it's previous life it was some kind of torture device they used during the Spanish Inquisition or something. Maybe I should get a priest to exorcise the damn thing. Who knows, it just might work ... LOL!

I guess with the amount of money I spend just to keep it running, you'd think it would be better to get a new car, right? Well, I am in the midst of getting one but there some issues with it at the moment, which is another long story, and one that I'm not ready to share with the world just yet. Let's put it this way, the car has been ordered and all that but getting delivery of it is a problem which I'm trying to sort out. Hopefully I'll get that sorted out soon so I don't have to go see my mechanic every damn month!

The only good thing about this week is that I'll be off for the Chinese New Year celebrations for about a week. No, no, I don't celebrate Chinese New Year but my office management does and we close shop here from this Wednesday until next Wednesday so at least that's something to look forward to :D At least I'll get to have another nice long rest and this time I aim to be doing more with it besides sitting and blogging and also sleeping all day ... hehehe ... Of course there well be the on going assignments like this thing on angel investors that I have to complete but that shouldn't take too long. Maybe I'll go for a picnic or something. I'm sure wifey would love that, the boys too.

OK, now that I've let out some steam here about my devilishly evil car, I'm not in such a bad mood any longer. I think I'll go do some blog hopping and see whats happening in other parts of the world. I do hope you've all had a much better day than me though. See you guys in a bit.

  1. I can sooo understand how you feel having to part with perhaps even a few hundred dollars every month just to fix your car...mine gone haywire after it's 9th b'day and we are poorer by a few thousands $$ so now!! But thank goodness my "princess" is behaving pretty well now...keep fingers crossed!! ;p

  2. I think the car sense that you've gotten (or going to get) a replacement and is "merajuk"-ing... well, at least mine does... when I spoke of getting a new car, she (yes, it's a she-car) gave me so much problems but when I decided to hold on getting a new car, all those problems disappeared!

  6. Aunty J - I think the amount I spent on fixing my car, I could have bought a brand new car by now. I'm hoping my car won't act up again, at least for a few months that is ...LOL!

  7. Sting - I'm inclined to agree with you. I think I'll just keep real quiet from now on about getting a new car ... LOL!

By the way, I think my car is neither a she nor a he. It's just a blooming sadistic piece of junk!

  9. Jen's Place - Your car battery exploded? Oh man, that sounds worse than my problem! Hope your car's okay.

Yeah, sure sounds very much like Stephen Kings evil twin was over at your place too ... LOL!

  11. Ugh, car troubles are the worst headaches! I'd almost rather get a filling at the dentist than see a mechanic :( I hope it all works out and you get your new car in no time. Have a great week off!!

  12. Oh dear sorry to hear your car is misbehaving again! So you think it's related to Christine?!
I hope for your sake it's not as evil as Christine.

Roll on Wednesday! I expect that's what you're thinking!

  13. I seriously think that every car has a mind of their own! My previous car was like that too! When I got my bonus (for making lots of sale for my previous company) I was laughing in the car and talked to myself on what I'd buy with that money. Next morning, I found my front porch flooded with water. My air-cond thingy broke and water from I-dunno-where flowed out! Sent the car for repair (after going through the 30 minutes drive in that HEAT - like I'm in oven), spent RM300+ on new part for the air-cond thing. Then later in the evening, the front tyre broke. Spent another RM360 for a brand new tyre. And then guess what?

The very next day, the OTHER front tyre broke again! This time, right in front of a church in the evening!! A friend called my cellphone and said, "Wow, Cindy. I saw you at the church. You went to pray for thanksgiving??" Bloody hell. Didn't help me change tyre.. instead he thought I was going to the church. >:(

So YES, I think every car has a mind of it's own.

    A piece of advice:

Threaten to BUY a new car to that old car of yours. Say it out loud to her. It might scare her! *wink*

  14. uff, I understand. My car was in the shop TWICE in Janaury, each time costing me dearly. Here's hoping you only need a spark plug!

  15. Cars and computers... they really do seem to have a mind of their own!

  17. Oh Nick!

I know exactly how you feel!!!!

I had this crazy idea to rebuild my first ever car (sports car) that's been sitting in my sister's garage last spring. And eventhough I've sank in crazy money to replace everything, it still gets broken every other day.

  18. Sandy C. - LOL! I think I'll skip the dentist part. I'm equally terrified of dentists too.

So far, that evil thing with 4 wheels on it seems to be acting just fine ... but you never know ... LOL!

  19. The world according to me - I think it's probably in cahoots with Christine ... LOL!

Yeah, roll on Wednesday :) Wednesday just can't come soon enough ...

  20. Ethel - Don't you know that you should never EVER mention that you have extra money with you in the presence of your car? They tend to want it spent all on them ... LOL!

I sympathize with you. I've been through something like that long ago where my car broke down almost every single day for the whole week!

And I don't think I want to threaten my car la, the fellow is sooooo damn sensitive. Don't want it breaking down on me ... LOL!

  21. AB - hey, good to see you here again. Well, the good news is, it was just a few spark plugs. But the bad news is, it wasn't the spark plugs alone. Thankfully it didn't cost that much :)

  22. BT - Don't even get me started on computers, I can probably write a really long posting about computer problems ... LOL!

But you're right, those two seem to go hand in hand!

I look forward to the CNY celebration every year cos of the long leave we all get.

By the way, here's wishing you and family a prosperous Chinese New!
    Year

  24. Sharon - LOL! I know how that one feels. In fact I think the amount of parts I've changed in my car in the past, it's probably enough to build a new car ... LOL!
