400 Hundred Words Max!

By now most of you know how long winded I can get at times (ok, all the time). Even my wife thinks I can get a little too long winded with my post and sometimes it can be a bad thing. Take for instance, just a few days ago, I was doing this assignment and wrote this nice, long (well, at least I thought it was) posting and added in the mandatory assignment link and submitted it. But it kept on rejecting the submission.

Ok, now that's a first. It has never happened before. Maybe it's a glitch I say. So, I try again. The same thing happens again. Ok, now that can't be a glitch anymore. So, I check all the link and yes, it's the correct link and put in the correct way. And yes, it's also in the correct blog, I've had an embarrassing experience before of doing an assignment for the wrong blog and then made a big fuss when it was rejected ... LOL! Ok, I'm a doofus at times, so sue me :D

So after checking that it is in the right blog and all this time, I try the submit button once again and it gets rejected again. I'm pissed and start bitching loudly until wifey comes up to me and say:

'Urmmm sayang oi, this site only allows you 400 words max and you got like 1,5oo words, no wonder they reject you! Be long winded some more!'

LOL! And you know what, she was right. There I was with a post about the best web hosting plan totaling to about 1,560 words when I was only allowed 400 max! Well, so much for that post. What's with the 400 words maximum limit, huh? Limits a guys creativity ... hehehe ... Well, I guess I just got to play by the rules and so far this is by far my shortest ever post!

And trust me, I had more trouble trying to write this short post than I would from writing my normal long winded ones. But don't you guys go and get used to this cos this is a one off thing. Before you know it, I'll be back to my usual posting style soon ... hahaha ...

*Just for information purposes, this post is exactly 400 words long. I hope whoever made that silly 400 word rule is happy now!

  21. A short post from Nick! *chuckles* Think of it this way Nick, boundaries can make you more creative, trying to get around it, rather than limiting. But good on you!

  24. Haizum - Yeah, you're right in that aspect, but I'd rather not be restricted in doing anything. But I guess some rules need to be formed or we'd all be totally out of control ... but it sure wasn't easy trying to stick at 400 words or less ... LOL!

  25. Jace Tse - Thanks and glad to have you here.

    ReplyDelete
  50. 1560 words aye Nick? You must had an easy peasy thing with writing essays back in high school right?

But i think you're right about having it easy to make a 1000+ words entry than just 200 words. I feel that way too. The thing is, I got melalut too much from my main point while yours is still intact with the main topic. So i rather make it short than having people complaining of headaches reading my off topic entry. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Yalor... limit a guy creativity... cilaka indeed.

Oh and I hated writing in school la, especially essays and karangan ... LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Papajoneh - LOL! I thought I went to the wrong blog too :D

  56. Hahahahahaa!! Oh well.. if they had limits on comments, then I'd be in trouble!! LOL!

OR maybe they do but I haven't crossed the boundaries yet! hahaha..

Oh well, I enjoy reading those posts. Especially on a Sunday afternoon like this and nothing to do. No tv to watch. One kid is asleep. Another watching transformers. And loads of long posts to catch up on!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Shemah - LOL! Yeah, I guess you would.

On a Sunday afternoon like this, I'd be taking my beauty nap though ... LOL!
