The Justice League of America

Ahhh, it feels good being a boss even though it's only for a week. I'm actually having a nice easy Monday for a change. I don't have any work that needs to be completed for now, the new staff is not bugging me with questions at all (which is really strange, must go and check if they are actually doing any work ... LOL) and the fact that it's raining giraffes and camels out there right now makes the office real nice and cozy :)

Actually days like these are best spent cuddled up in bed snugly under the covers. I'll bet the wifey is doing exactly just that right now seeing as how she isn't online chatting with me now. That is if the boys are not getting on her nerves ... hehehe ... They can be a handful to handle on their own especially during the school holidays.

I did mention in my previous post that I had a childhood dream come true over the weekend. Well, it wasn't really a bona fide childhood dream la but it was just as close. On Saturday, the family and me went for breakfast at Sunway Pyramid and also for a little window shopping which ended up with us buying stuff like a dell memory card and a few other things. It still puzzles me how we can never go to a mall and not end up buying stuff! They must put some kind of spell in there that makes you wanna shop even though you didn't plan to in the first place.

Anyway, after the breakfast and as we were walking around, we came to the concourse area and there was this Meet The Justice League promotions going on. The promo proper was just starting and the front of the stage area was packed with little kids. Some kind of activity was already going on and my younger boy immediately ran to see what was going on. I wasn't too far behind cos when it comes to superheroes and stuff, I revert to my little boy mode immediately ... LOL!

The MC on stage was at that point just about to introduce three of the characters of the justice League (you must remember I'm a huge comic fan) and the moment Wonder Woman came out on stage I was hooting right along with all the kids there (and don't you people get any perverted ideas about why I was hooting at Wonder Woman, ok? LOL!). Then immediately, the Flash came running out on stage followed by the Batman. By this point I was practically jumping up and down in sheer excitement.

Wifey was way behind smiling and looking at me with this 'you got no hope' look on her face. She knew I wasn't going to budge from there until the promo was over. Okay, I knew these guys were just actors in suits but who cares, I got to see, meet, shake hands and yes, take pictures with the three Justice Leaguers! Now that is something worth getting excited over, well for me anyway.

Okay the picture taking part was a little embarrassing cos the MC actually said only kids from 6 and below would be allowed on stage one by one to take a photo shoot with the Justice Leaguers but I wasn't buying that! I told wifey, I'm going to get my way on that stage and get at least one shot with them. So, with nothing to lose, while all the kids were lining up to head on the stage, I went to the MC and gave him my best puppy dog eye little boy look and asked him if I could join the kids for the photoshoot.

I guess it must have worked cos he told me to go right on ahead. You should have seen me, I was beaming from ear to ear. I was the biggest 'kid' in the queue and everyone was giving me this weird look ... LOL! But seriously I couldn't care less. All I was interested in was getting up on stage and having my ugly mug taken with Wonder Woman (Adrian buddy, since you're a Wonder Woman fan, you would have loved this ... hehehe), the Flash and of course, that guardian of Gotham City himself, The Batman :D

And my most favourite hero for the day was the Flash cos he was the most animated of the lot and never stopped smiling. He had all kinds of groovy poses for his photo sessions with all the kids. He was the most entertaining of the lot :D Gosh, I felt so like a little kid and I was flushed with joy for hours on end even after we left the place. I couldn't help telling wifey what a joy it was to meet my childhood comic book heroes to the point I think she was probably fed up of hearing about it ... hehehe ....

That was my highlight for the entire weekend and to top it all off, I managed to catch a Star Trek movie on TV later at night which I forced wifey to sit through until the end. She's not a science fiction fan, especially for Star Trek movies but she gamely sat through it (not that she had any other choice with me practically pinning her to the couch ... LOL!) and watched it till the end. Thanks for being such a good sport honey :D Well, that capped my entire wonderful weekend :D

  1. I loved watching Wonder Women on television when I was a kid. There wasn't much of a choice for girl super heroes back then, but I thought she was the coolest. Ummmm...where is the picture of you with them?
