Vroom, Vroom, I'm A Brainless Motorcyclist!

I think when you decide to buy a motorcycle over here, your are required to leave your brains behind at the shop where you bought your motorcycle from cos as far as I'm concerned, I think almost all motorcyclist are a brainless, inconsiderate bunch of people. And I say almost all cos there are a few law abiding motorcyclist out there but they're a rare bunch of people.

This afternoon, on the way back to the office after lunch at home. I stopped at the traffic lights cos it was red (duh!). There was this motorcyclist guy who decided to ignore the lights and went through and almost got himself killed by narrowly avoiding a car that was on the right side of the traffic lights.

Trust me, if that car hadn't stopped in time, which in turn nearly got him rear ended by another car behind, that motorcyclist would have lost his stupid life. And to top things off, he had the cheek to show the driver of the car his middle finger! He went through a red light. The car with the right of way, screeched to a halt and nearly got rear ended by the car behind and the poor fellow was shown the middle finger. Can you beat that?

I've seen this happen so many times. The motorcyclists here are just a bunch of brainless terrors on the roads. They really have no regards for rules and regulations. They squeeze through you at traffic lights, sometimes scraping your car, hitting your side mirrors without even bothering to stop. They go through red lights like as if the roads belongs to them. They weave in and out on the highways without a care in the world. They don't bother using the special lanes allocated for them. They park anywhere they like. The list goes on and on and on ...

Do they even worry about their own safety? Do they they even care? Do they even have brains to care? I've had my fair share of close encounters with these motorcyclist in my lifetime and half the time I felt like just running over them! As it is, it's already stressful enough driving on the roads here with those mad lorry drivers, psychopathic bus drivers and the occasional Michael Schumacher wannabes, we also have to look out for these motorcyclist who weave in and out, using the highways pretending to be Valentino Rossi's. They not only endanger their own lives but the lives of the rest of the road users.

Some of them even ride without crash helmets, carry five or even six (I've seen this with my own eyes) people on their bikes. Not only that, I've seen some that carry all kinds of stuff with them like mattresses, generators, pipes, cupboards (yes, I've seen this too!) and all sorts of other things that are not at all suited for a vehicle with two thin wheels. Don't ask me how the heck they actually balance themselves though.

And with almost all the fatal accidents involving motorcyclists in the papers everyday, they're still not concerned about safety. They probably think it won't happen to them. Well, Mr. Motorcycle guy, when it does happen to you, then it'll just be too late, wouldn't it? You'll just be another statistic on the road! So, please, for gods sake, toe the line when it comes to safety on the roads. Green mean go, Amber means get ready to slow down to a stop and red means STOP!

And what I hate even more is after coming out of an appointment to find my car surrounded with motor bikes that I can't even get into my car. They just park wherever they like and go about doing whatever it is they do, not bothering if they're inconveniencing anyone else. It's not like there isn't a motorbike parking nearby. At times like these I just feel reversing and running over their bikes. Well, to be honest once I did. not run over their bikes but actually push their bikes into a drain ... hahaha ...

A colleague and me went for an appointment and came out to see bikes parked on either side of us, blocking both driver and passenger doors. And we couldn't move the bikes cos one or two of them had tire locks on it. So we did the next best thing, we pushed it all down the drain and quickly got into the car and drove like crazy out of there ... LOL! Trust me, it felt good seeing all the bikes fall into the drain like dominoes ... hahaha ... Ok, I know it was a bad thing to do, but they deserved it!

That's why I think motorcyclist are a bunch of stupid morons who leave their brains behind when they buy their bikes. But I must stress that there are a lot of pretty decent motorcyclist around who follow the rules and take their safety and others into utmost consideration. And I salute you guys for that. It's just that other brainless bunch of motorcyclist that give you guys a bad name. Then again, there are some pretty moronic car drivers too ...

  1. Ahhh I seen this happen here before. Once when I was driving and saw this mother and son crossing the road..the motorcyclist ram those 2 people and go @_@ I was stunned. I mean halfway cursing coz yeah that's wut I normally do. But, here I would like to state that, people in general are stewped @_@ They like to break the rules >.<" sigh! Maybe it's the end of the world that people just dun care about their lives @_@ urgh~

  2. Oh!! I AGREE WITH YOU ON THIS!! What right did they think they have to ride their bike in a crazy manner and putting other's life in danger? Sometimes, I do secretly curse and hope a trailer will ram those crazy drivers. At least we will have less maniac on the road huh?

  3. I was just thinking of getting a motorbike for convenience... In KK it is so much safer than everywhere I've been and seen so far (but I think this is changing!). If only motorcyclists didn't think they own the road!

  4. Even though how much we hate these dumb motorcyclists, we can't do anything about it because they can simply smash our cars with the helmets and kick us to death. My friend was beaten up with his own steering lock when he angered a motorcyclist.

There's nothing that makes me happier than seeing a whole bunch of motorcyclists get stopped in a road block! But it's sad how some of those a.holes just run over the police and become murderers in the process. These motorcyclists become such a nuisance especially when they start endangering people deliberately like smashing people's cars with their helmets and it's so scary!!

  5. I think it's a classic case of they never think anything will happen to them, until it's too late.
But putting other peoples lives at danger just isn't on.
I know from experience the tragic consequences of reckless driving, so it's something I feel very strongly about too.

  6. I'm soooo with you on this. I hate hate HATE motorcyclists. I hate them to such a degree that if I ever became PM (well, one can always dream can't they? ;) ), the 1st thing I'd do is ban them. Muahahaha!

  7. Nick, speaking of motorbikes, Sun night we were otw to KLIA and there was a roadblock ahead. 2 motorbikes made a u-turn and turned into oncoming traffic for fear of being stopped, can u imagine??? Almost got killed also tsk tsk tsk!!! :(

  8. gosh... he was in the wrong and he did that? what if the car did really hit him ya... sigh..

  9. A few years ago my younger brother bought on of those fast street motorcycles and our father nearly kicked his butt for it. He scares the living crap out of me when I see him drive it and all the crazy stunts he does with it!

  10. Maslight - You just may have a point about this being signs for the end of the world ... LOL!

But on a serious note, they do just love tempting fate. I don't care if they kill themselves but they endanger the other innocents around them too, that's what I despise the most ...

    ReplyDelete
  11. Kadus Mama - You know what? I have that same secret curse too ... LOL! They really are a bunch of nuisance on the roads most times ...

    ReplyDelete
  12. Charlene Diane - It's a good idea NOT to get a bike. It's just totally unsafe. These motorcyclists really think they're kings of the roads! And until that attitude changes, you'll be better off driving on four wheel.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Syura - OHMYGOD! That is absolutely terrible. They do behave like thugs don't they. I hope your friend didn't suffer serious injuries though.

The worst thing is they're getting bolder by the day. They not afraid of the police even, like you say, they run them over during road blocks. If I were the cops, I'd just shoot them and be over with it!

They are a scary bunch, that much is true ...

    ReplyDelete
  14. The World According To Me - That's true, they always think it won't happen to them but they don't realize how fragile they are on the roads. Just a tiny unprotected machine on two wheels with the countless huge cars and other vehicles out there. But by the time it happens to them, it'll be too late to regret cos most of them don't come out of these accidents alive!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Perky - Cool, you definitely will get my vote for the PM's post if banning motorcyclist was the first thing you'd do ... LOL!

    I thoroughly despise them too!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Marzie - I've seen that happen too. I think half the motorcyclist out there are riding illegally la.

And another thing I hate about them is they just love riding any which direction they like! Bunch of idiots!

  17. Sting - He would have deserved it and if he was still living after that, I would have stopped my car, gone out and given him an applause for being so dumb! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Tammy - If my kids ever told me they want a motorbike they'd get their butts kicked that's for sure!

Just imagining your brother do those crazy stunts scares the hell out of me too!

  19. I just saw a fatal accident this morning involving a motorbike. Really sad thing to see so early in the day. I think one should avoid riding a bike if he/she can. Bike riders are so vulnerable on the roads.

    ReplyDelete
  20. BT - That is such a sad thing to see so early in the morning. May he/she rest in peace.

There are really VERY vulnerable on those small machines of theirs and they should really be more careful.

I agree with you, stay away from bikes if at all possible.

  21. Aiyoh, Nick, now the petrol so high, motorbike is more practical ma! I am going to get one myself, give way to me ya! Thank you in advance, hehe
Any way I dont even know how to ride bicycle, motorbike easier ah?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeah, Nick. I have to agree on the crazy motorcyclist thing. It happens here many times too. I just hate seeing them so relax, so like nothing will happen, I'm a GOD kind of feeling.
Sometimes I pray they did not mess with me, bcoz i usually won't tolerate such behaviour. So so stupid bah. Not all of them, of coz... but some. and that some really get on yer nerves.
I like what u did.. down the drainage. hahahahahhaaa.. high five to that!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ewww Nick, that was mean of u to push their bike into the drain! But I know what you mean. Sometimes I am so mad at them that I wish I am driving one of those monster truck. And then I can give them a nudge with my big front bumper! Of course, there are some cars that I wish I can do that to as well!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hey! Take it easy, just making their living! I know you too :p Those who don't follow the rules will get their warning soon! Sooner Or later...

    ReplyDelete
  25. nick, i am feeling all your anger in this post. I've seen motorcyclists ignoring the red light all the time. It was like as tho' motorcyclist are free to drive by their own rules.

If i was the driver who has stopped for the motorcyclist, i would be really really pissed off. Not only that u nvr say sorry but u show me yr middle finger? gosh, where's the justice? It happened to me once, but it was a car, and the driver didnt even bother to look back. How rude! *arghhhh*

    ReplyDelete
  26. I also hate them la, endangering ppl's lives! :(

Btw, I have something for you at my blog, congrats!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I've seen more than my share of it. More motorcycles could mean more accidents...you pushed their bikes into a drain? hahaha..GOOD!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Exactly! You forgot to mention the time when they tried to squeeze in between cars during the traffic jam, they bang into ppl's sideview mirror like it's OK for them to do it. And can't even bother to say sorry. Damn it.
Oh ya, like you said, they left their brains at the motor shop.

  29. I have a complete phobia when it comes to motorcyclist. I got mugged by two guys on a bike before and I was dragged on the streets for quite a bit becos my purse tersangkut dekat my elbow... well, until one of the dudes came down with knife! Nasib he just cut the strap off and that was it... but motorbikes in Malaysia? Especially KL? Stay away people! Thank God Sabah tidak banyak.

  30. I've seen fatal motorcycle accidents, with brains spattered on the highways. You would think they would be more cautious.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Molly - LOL! I'll keep a look out for you ...

I don't know how to ride a motorbike myself la ... hehehe ...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Papajoneh - I had a blast pushing their bikes in the drain too ... LOL!

But you're absolutely right, their 'tidak apa' attitude and the fact that they think the roads belong to them is what really makes me mad!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Jen - Oh, I've had thoughts of running over them so many times la ... Yes, there are some car drivers who also think the roads belong to them!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Lianny - I suppose you're right. Sooner or later, their luck won't help them any longer.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Jean - That's what makes me real mad. It's their fault and they make it sound like it was your fault instead!

There are so many times I feel like running over them la!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Marzie - You have something for me? Cool, I'll come right over soon :D Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Monica - Oh I have to agree, the more of them around, the worse it's going to be. And with the recent fuel hike, lots more people are going to be using bikes ... sigghhhh ...

    ReplyDelete
  38. Shern's Mom - They've done that to me so many times and sometimes they even have the cheek to stare at me after the hit my mirror. Like as if I should have moved the mirror out of their way for them! Idiots, that's what they are!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Rozella - OHMYGOD! You got mugged by these people? Glad nothing more serious happened. These people can be scums at times. Yeah, stay away from them at all costs, if at all possible!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Spicy Bug - They never learn. They think it won't happen to them. They just don't know how fragile they really are ...

  41. Am I on your moronic drivers list now? :P Or do I have to do more damage to deserve that title?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Award!!!!!!!!!! For being an Egg____ (fill in the blanks) :P Hahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  43. Rozella - An award? For me? Cool, I just love awards ... hehehe ... Thanks for the recognition of being an egghead ... LOL! I'll come check it out ...

Let me check my list of moronic drivers and see if your name is there or not ... LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  44. To tell you the truth Nick, this post made me realise how few motor bikes I see on the road over here these days. My main beef is with large four wheel drive vehicles or SUV's. The drivers are mostly arrogant because of the size of their vehicles and they shouldn't be on suburban roads...that's not what they were designed for and that's not what suburban roads were made for either. End of rant.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Gypsy - LOL! The huge SUV's here do tend to have the same tendencies as yours does. Sometimes I wonder why people just can't be considerate to others? Makes you wonder doesn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  46. that's a cruel thing to wish for, Nick...all fall into a drain!

hubby used to be a biker,
never did all those nasty irresponsible stuffs you mentioned above.

of course, he rode fast too, at times , but he have the skill and confidence to do it, never putting other drivers on the road at risk.

his weren't a fairy tale ending...his bike was TOTAL LOST and took him one year to recover from the reason of a crash with a MORON driver.

    ReplyDelete
  47. KM - Don't get me wrong, there are some motorcyclist who follow the rules like your hubby but the majority of them are just a bunch of idiots!

And granted there are a few moronic drivers too ...

    ReplyDelete
  48. first let me laugh my head out...hahahahahahahahahhaahah padan muka who ever bike that was that masuk longkang!!! hahahahahhaha...i like!! They so deserved that ok! Wohooo!!

secondly, i really think all malaysian motorcyclist(specially mat rempits) dont bother about their life la..sigh...if not i dont think they will be doing that la...they are indeed BRAINLESS COWS!

  50. Emelda - That's exactly what my colleague and me did after we drove off ... We had to stop the car and laugh our heads off before even being able to drive again ... LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Jean - LOL! Susah to be patient with motorcyclists la ...

You have something for me? Cool, I'll come check it out in a while :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Iyyeerr.. after what happened to Rozie, I have a phobia with motorcyclists too. I heard that these "gangs" will try to scare women drivers when they park their car by surrounding the car all over with their bikes near the parking space.

Another one of my plenty reasons why I am chauffeur driven everywhere. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Shemah - They are terrors on the raods, that much I know. Oh, they just love parking their bikes all around cars which drives me up the wall.

Chauffeur driven, I wish I was chauffeur driven myself. Some people have all the luck ... LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  54. "I think motorcyclist are a bunch of stupid morons who leave their brains behind when they buy their bikes"

Hey, Nick, you're right. I like your definition very much! Whenever I say something about motorcyclists I'll quote you. Best definition ever!!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Cidao - LOL! Thank you but there are really some nice law abiding motorcyclist too, it's just that the majority of them are brainless ...
