It's a Friday and normally I'm really happy and joyful on Fridays cos I live for the weekends. But not this Friday. I'm pretty frustrated right now cos my car is in its acting up phase again. Right now, it's jacked up in the mechanic shop a few doors away from my office with half its lower guts removed and being replaced with some new parts ... siggghhh ...
There goes a couple of much needed hard earned cash just to get it ship shape again. It actually started acting up a few days ago but only yesterday did it really protest much louder and I couldn't put off from not sending it in. I have my normal panel of mechanics, yes, yes, I have a panel of them seeing as how my car just loves visiting mechanic shops but unfortunately all of them are near where I stay and I happen to work in KL these days.
So my boss recommended his mechanic seeing as how it's just a few doors away and I could still sit in the office and do work instead of having to take the day off to get it fixed. Smart boss isn't he? Darn, there goes my chance to bum off ... LOL! Anyways, I hope the mechanic is good cos I feel uncomfortable sending my car to mechanics I don't really know.
I think I've had numerous postings about my car before. My car really has a mind of its own and only my regular mechanics are familiar with its workings and normally know how to molly coddle it back to good health. A new mechanic on the other hand might find it a tad too difficult to troubleshoot the problem. But my boss insists the mechanic is pretty decent and who am I to argue with my boss, right?
Right now, I'm a little concerned though cos I sent it there first thing in the morning and it's still jacked up on the urmmm, what do your call that contraption that raises your car up so they can work underneath it? I think you know what I mean, ya? Well, right now it's still up there and not much activity is happening to get it back into working condition.
I do hope they can get it fixed by the time work is over cos I hate having to hang around waiting for it to be ready and what's worse is, I don't have transport to head home if they can't fix it today, god forbid though! Don't expect me take flag down a taxi or a bus cos I have no idea how to take one seeing as how I haven't taken one in years!
Every time I go over and ask the mechanic when it will be ready, he has his standard answer all ready, which is:
'Jangan takut, petang lambat sikit boleh siap.' (Don't worry, it'll be ready late evening.)
That's not really very reassuring cos late evening could mean anytime and judging by the amount of parts he's removed and has strewn all over the floor, I have my serious doubts. And my boss isn't helping my mood all that much by saying I could always sleep over in the office if the car is not ready! I have half a mind to hit him on the head ... LOL!
Oh god, it's starting to rain now. That's gonna put a spanner in the works. And strangely enough whenever it rains, everything seems to slow down, not just the traffic! Somebody up there must not really like me all that much. I've been having a pretty rough week with one thing happening after another. And its been pretty relentless. I was hoping for an easy Friday and now this happens ... siggghhh ...
.
I hope you get your car fixed on time ready for you to head home.
ReplyDeleteI have a trusted mechanic too and believe me...having a trustworthy one's very important. That goes for having a good locksmith and plumber too.
