Miracle Potions & Gifted Individuals ...

I was having drink with my boss this morning at the usual coffee shop a few doors away from the office. This is no Starbucks mind you. It's one of those regular Chinese coffee shops you have out there. And the norm with these coffee shops is the amount of posters you can find plastered on the walls advertising one thing or another with the majority being beer ads and other drink products.

Now, interspersed with these posters you'd also find some of those locally produced drinks or food posters plastered there too. I was a little bored. I mean I see my boss every darn day and blabbermouths as we both may be, sometimes we run out of things to chat about. So I decided to read one of these home made posters selling this Lemon Lime Tangerine Sea Coconut drink.

Lemon Lime Tangerine Sea Coconut? I thought to myself. What an unlikely combination. Never mind I said. People make up all kinds of drinks these days. But then I got to the part where it said:

'Guaranteed to cure kidneys stones, piles and even cancers problem. No need to go doctors one! The one and only cures for all your health problems!'

Ok, let not even talk about the bad grammar and spelling. I copied that exactly the way it was written in the poster. I wanna talk about the part where it claims to health problems and even cancer. How many times have you heard someone come up to you trying to sell you something that purportedly able to cure some major disease or something?

I mean come on people, if this Lemon Lime Tangerine Sea Coconut could cure cancer, wouldn't doctors be already using it instead of still slaving away trying to find a cure for cancer? Imagine how many of our loved ones who have succumbed to cancer would still be alive if they only had found out about Lemon Lime Tangerine Sea Coconut or some other magical potion out there? And the worse part is there are actually people who would probably believe something like this and buy the darn product!

Sometimes I even get relatives or friends trying to tell me to drink a certain home made elixir made from this or that cos it will be able to cure your body aches, stomach ulcers, stop you from getting cancer and other ailments. And my answer to them is always the same. If these junk you're proposing really can cure major ailments, then why aren't the people from the medical industry recommending it? Don't tell me they're all a bunch of doofusses?

There is this guy who comes to my office to print some stuff. He's in the massaging and traditional medicine business. Every time he comes here to print his stuff he'll never fail to tell us that his massaging methods can cure all kinds of major ailments and that you wouldn't even need to go to the doctors! Now, that's a bit far fetch if I must say so. I'll admit, massaging does have some benefits, but curing major ailments? If it really were true, wouldn't this guy be famous and filthy rich instead of running a business from some dinghy shop lot?

Then there is this other guy, no he doesn't promote any magical cure-all potions but he charges people money to give them a certain number that will bring them vast richness beyond their imagination. My question again is, if you did have this 'gift' then why aren't you using it to get rich yourself instead of once again running your business from a dinghy shared shop lot? And don't tell me he's the generous sort of guy and wants to make people rich! I don't think any of his customers have won anything yet.

But then, I don't blame people like this for trying to pull the one over on some people cos they're just so darn desperate and gullible to believe anything and let themselves get cheated by people like these. I for one don't believe in magical elixirs or paying to get a certain lucky number so I can go buy those Magnum or Toto 4 digit numbers. In fact to be honest I don't know how to buy one even if I wanted to ... LOL!

I wonder what they'll come up with next? Maybe a custom rubber stamp that will magically turn any paper you stamp on into a hundred dollar note. Hmmmm ... that's not a bad idea really? Any of you interested in one? For a small fee I could make one for you. Imagine the wealth and good health you would attain? LOL! And if you believe that, well I could probably cure half your ailments too if you'll send me some money to my PayPal account ... hahaha ...

  2. A bunch of bull stories. It's not uncommon to hear of miracle cures of this and that. You're spot on about the 'gift'..if indeed it's so true, why aren't so many things happening..like ppl getting healed or rich so they don't need to lift a finger or future all mapped out etc etc.
