Hello people, here I am back again with my now getting to be a habit Friday posting. And to think at one time I used to post almost everyday. Gee, where did I find my inspiration back then to come up with posts everyday. I really must have had loads of rubbish to write about I guess ... LOL!
I actually have loads of things on my mind but can't really seem to be able to put them down to words. It's like I'm losing the ability to write. And that's a scary thought for a loud mouth like me! I never had problems coming up with posts before.
I could talk about anything and go on for hours and hours even earning the dubious honour of having a blog with the most long winded postings. I'm sure you guys know just how long winded my posts can be, ya. But not anymore. These days if I can get through three paragraphs, I'd be more than happy. I suppose having another three blogs doesn't really help either, Yes, yes, I'm one of those crazy people with more than one blog.
Anyways, on a different note altogether, have you guys heard of this game show called Wipeout? It's aired on Astro channel 701 at 9pm every Thursdays. The family and me have been watching it for quite a while now and we're really hooked on it. The boys even pleaded to be allowed to stay up an extra half hour just to catch it (they're normally sent to bed at 9.30pm on school nights).
Now, I'm not one who really enjoy these sort of game shows. Game shows don't really appeal to me that much. So when wifey first wanted to watch the show, I went,
'Awww honey, don't tell me you wanna watch this show?'
And watch it she did. I was instantly skeptical about it. It's a show where a bunch of everyday contestants try to navigate this series of obstacles that are set up on water and mud. And when I say ordinary contestants, I really mean ordinary unlike many of these kinds of game shows that pick contestants that look gorgeous, hunky and model like. The contestants here range from the really weird, insanely out of shape and down right annoying at times. Like I said, your normal everyday characters :D
And then when I discovered they had three, yes, three hosts, I was even more skeptical. Two host in the studio and one on site at the obstacle course. Now, why the heck they needed three hosts for I really don't know.
But I must say after watching if for 5 minutes, I was laughing my head off seeing the contestants stumble and make fools of themselves trying to navigate the obstacles. It's really hilarious I tell you. And I take back my criticism of them having three hosts. They add tons to the comedic actions of the contestants with their witty and often times sarcastic commentating.
But the best part of the show really boils down to the contestants. They're really hilarious and though they change the obstacles slightly each week, one obstacle that remains the same is the bouncing balls obstacle.
It's a segment of four huge red bouncy balls that the contestants need to ... urrrmmmm ... bounce over and it remains as my most favourite obstacle. Half the time I'm laughing my head off till my side hurts watching them bounce off the balls like some piece of rag doll ... LOL! So far, only 2 contestants have ever made it past this obstacle. I just love this show :D
So, if you're into game shows or even if you're not, I'd recommend this to you anytime. I'm sure you'll all get a kick out of those huge bouncing balls action just like me. If you haven't seen this show, then check out this video link (sorry, I don't like putting up actual videos on my blog) and you'll see what I mean about those huge red balls :D With that said and done, have a happy weekend y'all :D
.
Never heard of wipeout until today. I am not a fan of game shows and reality shows. But will check this out when I get to sit in front of the telly. Don't watch much tv on weeknights except for catching up with American Idol.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this show before, either... of course not watching much tv doesn't help, either
ReplyDeleteMei Teng - Up until my wife wanted to watch the show I didn't know it existed. Try and catch it if you can and you'll find yourself snickering away at the antics of the contestants :D
ReplyDeleteTerra Shield - Like I told Mei Teng, I never heard of this show but after catching it, I'm hooked :D
ReplyDeletewhen i first watch it, i kept saying Oh god! Ouchhhh and don't know what else..
ReplyDeleteIt looked really hurt when the contestants bumping, bang, fell, trying to past the challenges..
But it is a nice show though...even my MIL watched it.. :)
I like to watch all those games shows and Wipeout is one of my favourite show........ not easy to win the prize money.
ReplyDeletehubby just mentioned how hilarious this game show is this morning. he said it is almost similar to those japanese game show. both of us loveeeeeeeeeeee japanese game show cos they're ridiculous but still very2 funny.
ReplyDeleteI love that show!! I watched it 2 weeks ago and haven't missed it since. Kena menyesal a bit coz should've catched it when it first aired.
ReplyDeleteLove the commentators too... especially when they replay a certain scene over & over, added with their wicked commentaries.
Me and my sis will always laugh til our tummies ache when watching Wipeout.
This sounds like my kind of show though I would rather be participating in the fun challenges. What a hoot!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter Nick and I hope you get your groove back soon....not that I can talk :)
Ok, will add this show into my to-do-list in KL :)
ReplyDeleteFrom donuts to game shows, boy, I'll be having a blast in KL if I ever go there next.
i don't really follow the show but saw it once on Astro, really funny ...
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter bro. :D
can't say i've watched...but yes, watching people do silly things on tv does make for a hilarious sitting.
ReplyDeletehad caught a few episodes before and I think its quite a good show... though I still go "ouchhhh" when the contestants fall on their face!
ReplyDeleteNick, if this post of yours is any sampling of what you come up with when you "lose the ability to write" then, good grief, what on Earth are your posts like when you "do" have the ability to write, lol? Wow, if only we all could be so lucky to be at such a loss for words (heck, if we were, we'd all be blogging superstars, ha ha). You, at a loss for words??? Now that's funny! I do believe your "dubious honour of having a blog with the most long winded postings" will remain intact for a very long time to come.
ReplyDeleteAs for Wipeout, no, I can't say that I have seen it but I will say that it definitely does sound entertaining. If I happen to notice it on tv one of these days I'll be sure to check it out.
Your blog is great, keep up the good work and continue with your awesome posts!
Oh I haven't seen this! but you described it just as what carol mentioned, like one of those japanese gameshows! OMG! I love those! They're insanely hilarious! But I'm checking out that video link 'coz I'm in need of some laughs right now! :D
ReplyDeleteI watched the vid already and this is definitely my type of gameshow. LOL! Not that I'd join.. but i love watching obstacle games like these! LOL!
ReplyDeleteApparently, Syura has been watching it and I didn't even know about it! LOL! Well, I know where I'll be every Thursday night at 9pm! Thanks! :)
KadusMama - That's the same thing I kept saying too ... hehehe ... I simply can't get enough of the show ... We look forward to it every Thursday :D
ReplyDeleteRose - So far this is the only game show that I'm hooked on ... hehehe ... Yeah, you really have to work hard to win the main prize ...
ReplyDeleteCarol - You're right it actually is based on a Japanese game show :D The silliness is what makes it so darn fun :D
ReplyDeletePerky - It befuddled me why they needed three commentators but now I don't think the show will be as good if they took away either one of them. They're darn hilarious with all their wisecracks ... hehehe ...
ReplyDeleteRomany Angel - Hey Gypsy, good to see you here :D Happy easter to you and your family too :D
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'll be able to last the pace if I took part ... LOL!
The groove will come back soon, at least I hope so :D
The Real Mother Hen - You do that :D And try to keep some doughnuts for me, k ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteGreg - I don't really like game shows all that much, but after watching Wipeout once, I can't get enough ... hehehe ...
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you too :D
Perry - TV wouldn't be fun if people were to toe the line, ya ... hehehe ... Try to catch the show for some mindless laughter ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteSting - Yeah, I still go ouch too, especially when they get their faces smashed into those huge red balls ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteMistified - They can get pretty long and lengthy that some readers have even mentioned that they probably need to make a bowl of instant noodles just to get through my posts ... hahaha ... What to do, I have such a big mouth at time :D
ReplyDeleteDo try and catch the show, I'm sure you won't come away disappointed. It's highly recommended or your money back ... LOL!
Shemah - It is insanely hilarious ... hehehe ... and yes, Carol is right, it is based on a Japanese game show of the same theme. Go check the video out quick :D
ReplyDeleteShemah - I knew you would like it. It's been on for quite a while so make sure you get front row seating in front of your TV every Thursday, 9pm on Astro Channel 701 ... hehehe ...
ReplyDeleteDarn, Astro should pay me for helping promote their show ... LOL!
I've just watched the link and have been laughing out loud! I like the hands which punch you into the mud!
ReplyDeletePS I used to write every day and don't know how I found the time? I wish there were more hours in the day...
I don't know if this Wipe Out is going to be aired here. I'd watch funny shows like this, aside from crime series.
ReplyDeleteIt's the ups and down of blogging, maybe. Sometimes we're in high spirits to write, lol! Sometimes no spirit at all. :-)
Alamak 9pm I watch AF diary lol! Never watched this one before Nick, might check it out, thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteThe World According To Me - LOL! That punching wall as they call it is really a tough one. So far I've only seen one person who made it through.
ReplyDeleteYeah, a little extra hours everyday might just help :D
Marlene - I hope they air it over there cos it's a hilarious show :D
ReplyDeleteRight now, I think my spirit to blog ran away with the cows ... LOL!
Marzie - I gave up on AF long ago ... hehehe ... Try and catch it, it just might prove more entertaining than AF ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteI feel that. I used to post every day too, and now I am down to Monday's only. I have no idea how I used to blog every day. Now I just don't seem to have that kind of time.
ReplyDeleteMeleah - Same here. I wonder where the inspiration to post everyday came from back then ...
