Art In Evolution

I'm pretty bored in the office at the moment. Things are moving by slowly for the day. I hardly did any work all morning except have coffee with my boss. Then we headed to the groomers nearby, not for us mind you, for Pebbles, his little doggy that is living with me for a bit is due for a major haircut.

I took her to the office today and poor wifey is all alone at home with no one to accompany her, well at least until the boys get home from school. For the past 10 days, she's been having Pebbles for company and as much as she'll probably deny it, she's gonna miss Pebbles until I bring her home this evening ... hehehe ...

The worst thing was, when we took Pebbles to the groomers, the staff were all looking at us with this weird look wondering why two grown, macho (LOL!) men were bringing this little girlie like dog in for grooming ... hahaha ...

And today of all days both of us were dressed in worn out torn jeans and faded T-shirts seeing as how we had an installation of a backdrop to do for one of our golfing clients. I could imagine what the staff there were thinking of the two of us with the little girly dog, I know I would be thinking the same think if the situation was reversed ... LOL!

I can't wait to see how Pebbles is going to look later this evening when I pick her up. Her fur was getting a tad too unruly and you could hardly see her eyes anymore. I'm sure she's going to look absolutely different.

Anyways, our backdrop installation has been put off till tomorrow so that has left me pretty free for the entire day and I thought I might as well do some blogging with the time I have right now. It's been a while since I've blogged from the office cos work has just been too consuming. There was a time I wrote a post everyday from work, now my posting frequency has taken a nose dive.

Ok, I'm going to take this opportunity to help a good blogging friend of mine out and at the same time see if I can win a prize in a giveaway contest he's organizing. Ken, who owns the blog Tapestry has opened an online store called, what else, Living Tapestry :D It's an online store selling loads of beautiful and cool looking household items such as cushions, bags and many other artsy stuff.

The fellow is pretty creative so the stuff he sells are pretty good. Don't just take my word for it, go and check it out for yourself and you might just find something you like. Unfortunately Ken, I'm too poor to afford any of your stuff for now, let me become rich first, ok? LOL!

To coincide with his store's opening, he's having a giveaway contest with a prize given to the one who comes up with the most creative slogan. The winner gets RM100.00 worth of prizes and party invitations sponsored by Living Tapestry and I must say that I'm desperate to win. Then again, I'm always desperate to win free stuff ... hahaha! Ok, I made up the party invitation prize. But the RM100.00 is for real!

Ok, now comes the hard part, coming up with a creative enough slogan and god knows I'm hopelessly uncreative. I do work in a design agency and could cheat by getting a copywriter to help me but we don't employ copywriters cos we don't require them so much. And to get a freelance copywriter to help me cheat would cost more than the prize itself. I may be a doofus but I'm not stupid ... LOL!

So, after loads of deliberation and consulting the four elements, earth, wind, water and fire and also Blinky the Clown, this is the best I could come up with, Ken:

'Living Tapestry ... Artistic Evolution!'

Ok, you can stop laughing now. I know that's really the best of slogans but hey, at least I tried. I'm also supposed to give a reason for the slogan. Ken, why do you have to make this so hard la? LOL! Well, the reason is cheesy yet simple enough. Living Tapestry comes up with new designs and ideas on a continuous basis sort of like an evolution of artistic ideas, hence Artistic Evolution. So Ken, do I win? :D

Ok, I'm not going to bother with the rules and regulations but if you're interested, please do drop by Ken's blog for the rules and regulations in glorious details (I hope this doesn't disqualify me, Ken). Anyway, the contest ends tomorrow so if you're interested, I hope not cos the less people taking part the more chance I have to win (LOL!) ends tomorrow.
