Who Is That Masked Man?

I've been working my ass off the past couple of days working on a project for a friend in preparing his Rally cars for a race in Johor Baru this weekend. I know I said I don't do work for friends but this guy is one half of my only two best buddies so for him I'll gladly break my own policy.

About a month ago, I got a call from him asking me to design some Rally T-shirts and one thing led to another, I ended up doing everything from the caps, the buntings, the banners, name cards, the pet beds (okay, that is not true ... hehehe), the service tents and also the actual car branding which was really kinda fun though stressful cos I have never actually designed a layout for a car.

It was a hectic and extremely rush job, especially for the cars, a total of five cars in all, which was finally completed only today. Well, not really cos there are still a few more stickers and stuff that need to be pasted on the cars that will be done by his crew seeing as how the cars are already on the way to the event location.

In the end, everything went well and everyone liked the designs. I'm just relieved that everyone loved the designs and hopefully they'll win with at least one of those cars so I can see my work come out in the news or something ... hahaha! Ok, ok, I'm getting a little big headed!

On an entirely different subject altogether, the H1N1 virus is seriously getting bad over here. Everyday I keep hearing reports on the radio of the ever increasing fatalities that it's frightening me. The thing is I see people out there acting like as if nothing is really happening. It's like they think this disease won't happen to them.

Well, I'm not taking any chances. I work outside a lot and meet people on a daily basis and the chances of getting infected for me is kinda high. I've started wearing a mask when I go out. I know I look kinda silly, something of a mix between Ultraman and some weird space alien with a mask on, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I cannot afford to get infected with this H1N1 virus.

I'm keeping my handshakes with people to a bare minimum and am perpetually washing and sanitizing my hands as often as I can. And the moment I hear someone near me sneeze or cough, I run like crazy ... hahaha! But seriously, no kidding, I really move away as fast and as politely as I can. Like I said, it's better to be safe than sorry.

I'm hoping something can be done soon to stop this deadly swine flu virus before the death toll rises to some horrible level (not that it isn't already). I suppose the best way to stay safe is to practice proper hygiene, wash your hands always, stay away from public places as much as possible, cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze and be like me, wear a face mask when you go out.

If we all practice this on a daily basis, then maybe the spread of this disease would eventually die down and things would return to normal and I wouldn't have to look silly with a face mask on everywhere I go!

  2. I think a lot of people are worried about the H1N1 but are not sure what to do. I see more and more folks wearing masks. With the haze being so bad people are going to the mall as the other alternative....caught between the devil and the deep blue sea...

    thank goodness it rained today!

  7. Have some anti-bacterial spray around as well. I bought one the other day, but am too embarrassed to carry it to the office... A hand sanitiser doesn't sound too bad, though..
