I Hope You Die A Painful Death And Rot In Hell!

I read about countless people who've been victims of snatch thefts, some of whom don't even survive the ordeal. Most of the time, well all the time, these snatch thieves get away scott free because of our 'superb' not to mention 'efficient' capabilities of the Police whom I think have their agenda all mixed up!

But yesterday, my own mom was the victim of a snatch theft incident that left her falling and hitting her head on the gravel of the road, going unconscious and had to be rushed to the hospital to be treated for a head wound trauma. And the bastard got away scot-free with the main Police station being just 500-600 metres away. These guys are getting bolder by the day!

I wasn't there when it happened. My mom was out with my aunt and cousins for dinner in USJ 9, opposite Taipan. Most people who live here in USJ would know how busy and packed the place is most of the time, and yesterday wasn't any different. Like I said, these guys are getting bolder by the day.

After dinner, as she was leaving the restaurant with my cousins, this two guys on a motor bike came by and tried to grabbed her handbag from behind. Naturally, she resisted and ended up falling over backwards and smashing her hard on the gravel road. Of course, the two culprits got away even though two of my cousins tried to give chase.

By that time, according to my auntie, my mom lost consciousness and was bleeding badly from the head and also apparently stopped breathing or close to it. As fate would have it, a doctor happened to be passing by, saw the entire incident, got out from his car and proceeded to do whatever it was that needed to be done and got her breathing and semi-conscious again and my cousins rushed her off to a nearby clinic who instructed them to take her straight the hospital cos it was a head wound trauma case.

I couldn't be reached as I didn't really hear my cell phone ring and one of my cousins came over to my place hysterically screaming that my mom was robbed and was in a very bad shape and was showing me the blood on her hands which got me all panicky. I thought the entire episode could have been handled a little more calmly but that's a story for another day.

So I rushed off to the hospital and was just in time to see my mom being checked in by another cousin for treatment. To cut a long story short, she had to have her an X-ray of her scalp and chest which she said was actually hurting very badly (thankfully she was already conscious and able to talk by the time I got there).

After going through the entire procedure and getting her head wound stitched, she was given the all clear with no visibly serious injuries but was told that she needed to stay back for a couple of hours observations and was released on the same day.

I was thankful that it wasn't more serious than that. By the time I took her home and the entire episode settled down around 2.00am, I was visibly stressed out so much so that wifey could see the stress oozing out of my system. What a day it was for me. Never in my entire life did I think something like this would happen to a member of my family.

My questions is, are the Police seriously doing anything about trying to curb this snatch theft menace or are they busy with other duties nabbing all the innocent people in this country? Crime has escalated to a level so high and it gets worse every day but all I hear is that they're having this operation and that operation but with no results in sight?

Just what the heck do the Police really do these days? I don't see them patrolling the streets as much as they should. Communities have to hire personal security guards and fence up their neighborhoods just to keep themselves safe which boggles the mind seeing as how we do have a Police force.

Take the area I live in for instance, practically every section now has their own security guards and fenced up areas cos they're so afraid of crime that is still happening in their areas. Shouldn't this protection business be the job of the Police?

I'm pissed, really pissed. If the Police were doing their jobs properly, what my mom had to go through would not have happened. I don't care if they don't have enough personnel (which I'm sure they do judging by the amount of personnel they can mobilize in an instant during the curbing of peaceful protesters) but I expect my family members and me to be able to live in a safe environment without having to look over our shoulders all the time. After all that is why I pay taxes for in the first place.

I'm sure my mom is going to be traumatized for months or maybe even years to come and she's not going to feel safe when she goes out anymore. My mom is an outgoing person who is out all the time and now I'm not going to feel comfortable if she goes out again. In fact, judging by her reaction last night, she probably won't be going out on her own for quite a while.

Right now I'm also really not going to be at ease even when the boys are walking home from school or if wifey goes out on her own. Even this morning when we were out sending the boys for Sunday school and then doing our shopping I was constantly telling her to keep a tight reign on her purse (she didn't want to carry a handbag after last nights episode). See how one little incident can put so much fear into a person.

Anyway, I pray and hope that those two snatch theft bastards get what's due to them. If I ever see a snatch theft incident happening in front of me and if I have the chance to do something about it, trust me, I'll run over the lowly bastards, you can count on that! Then again, I just might burn them in an Amish fireplace!

  1. Oh boy! What a stressful weekend for you. Hope your mom is getting better already.. shaken i am sure.. and it will be a while before she goes out again.

I never liked Taipan.. my sister's fren was a victim there too.. and they pushed her so hard.. her face hit the ground.. and she lost a number of her teeth too.

Ask your mom to not carry handbags anymore.. and no more gold chains if she's wearing any.. or bracelets... same goes for Mrs Spiff.. its is best to be safe.

If i see a snatch thief on the road.. i will surely knock them down with my car.. there should be heavier jail terms or penalty for snatch thieves.. so many have perished under these stupid loons.

God Bless your mom and keep her safe.

  3. Hope your mom is better now. This incidents happen so much back where my parents live in Butterworth (Penang). That's why my mom refuses to bring her purse everywhere she goes. She'd rather just stuff the money in her pocket or ask my dad to bring his credit card with him. I don't know if I'm gonna be able to get used to having to constantly watch my back when I go back to Malaysia as I'm so used to not having to do that over here anymore...haiz...seriously, I have to say that Malaysia's Police force memang tak boleh pakai...

  4. I'm so sorry to hear this. Your poor mum. I hope she tries to put this behind her and they haven't knocked her confidence too badly.
I don't know how people can do this sort of thing. I hope they get their karma.

  6. I'm really sorry to hear this. I can only imagine what it must've felt like and I hope it remains an imagination for me. I also worry about loved ones now and again, especially with crime on the rise.

They should implement a motorbike curfew at areas where thefts are rampant, or totally ban motorcycles from passing through altogether.

  7. >.< OMG this is the worst. And I thought this is just another one of your rants about a client or something. But this is just bad. Really bad. I have family members being snatch before, but never this terrible. Anyways, did you went through that whole police report crap thing? I had that going on another country before and it's crap, my tour guide was nice to help me settle all the reports coz I was too depress to even talk that time.

Anyways, I hope those ppl get bang by a car, heck! worst let them rot and die on their next attempt hmph~ What's become to our world? *sigh, it's getting dangerous these days. Hope your mum is ok. I'd be traumatize too if that ever happen to me *touch wood. Dammit >.<

  8. Anny - It was stressful indeed. My mom is getting better, thanks for the concern :D It's not only her that is shaken, even I am shaken la!

Don't worry, Mrs. Spiff doesn't intend to carry a handbag for now. Yes, we should all run over these snatch thieves if we come across them!

  9. Soulie - It was and yeah, my mom is on the road to recovery. Don't know about the self confidence though ...

  10. Samantha - I guess not carrying a handbag is probably the safest option around here. This country is really going to the dogs.

And it's not that the Police force cannot pakai, it's just that it's being used for 'other' things ...

  11. The World According To Me - Yeah, I hope she's able t put this behind her too.

I guess there are some people who want easy money without having to work for it and try to get it off other people for their own nefarious needs!

Thanks for the get well wishes.

  12. Emelda - I guess that's why Taipan is synonymous with its double parking, everyone would rather be safe than sorry.

My mom is on the road to recovery, thanks for the wishes. My wife has already decided that she's not going to carry her handbag with her from now and would rather stuff her purse into my pockets :D

  13. Gallivanter - Hey, I like your idea. They really should implement a ban on motorcycles. It might not stop the culprits but at least we can chase them on foot and beat the crap out of them!

  14. Maslight - LOL! Do I bitch about my clients that much, ah?

I was stressed out by it let alone how my mom must have felt. People like these should be caught and stoned to death!

The situation is becoming worse by the day ... siggghhh ...

  17. OMG... really sorry to hear bout your mum. I was once a victim myself too. The law is totally unfair for us. If you killed a snatch thief, you are to be punished even though it's just for self defense. So what are we supposed to do? Stand still and let them snatch and do ntg about it? I think it's time for gov to do something about it. Until now, I don't dare to walk on open street.

    Hope your mum recovers soon.

  26. Charmaine - You were a victim? Then you'd probably know what my mom went through. It must have been harrowing. I know it was for me and I wasn't even the victim.

  33. Oh, I'm sorry for what happen to your mom. Those two bastards should indeed rot in hell.

  34. Oh my goodness! Your poor mum. Luckily she got help from the doc. But man, it really is unsafe to be out there. I worry for your family.

My friend who lives in Klang (the one who migrated his family to Melbourne recently) also told me about how his employee was robbed and how his son's car was being hijacked while he was driving it. Goodness. And I thought the government is putting more effort.

Oh,another friend whose father lives in Penang was robbed and knocked unconscious on the way to the bank. From a healthy businessman, he now lives in a nursing home because he suffered brain damage from the incident.

Now I don't have many friends in Malaysia but it seems that everyone I know has bad experience.

  35. OMG..I'm really sorry to hear about you mum..I used to stay in USJ 9 and the amount of snatch thefts I used to hear was endless...

I'm just thankful your mum is going to be OK. And I agree with you, these lowlifes should die a painful death and rot in hell.

  36. Thank god your mom is ok. Some victims arent that lucky! Sigh!

And yes, those thieves should be imprisoned and punished. They may be petty thieves, but they are also murderers. Let them die a painful death and rot in hell!!

  37. Am really sorry to hear about your mum. She must be really traumatised and I think it'll be ages before she ventures out by herself. We often hear about these snatch thefts and we say oh it's another one of those but when it happens to one's family then it becomes a completely different story.

  38. This is so untoward. I'm sorry about what happened to your mom. I wish her quick recovery from trauma and all. It's happening everywhere and the same here, the police are not making something to solve this crime. It's disappointing.

  39. BT - It's really not safe in this country these days. Everyday I read about something bad happening to someone and when it happened to my own family member, it's even more shocking!

I don't even want to go into what the Government is doing here ...

  40. Sriyany - The worse part is they now have a spanking new Police station there!

I'm glad she's okay too. I had such a fright!

  41. Rose - I'm actually very glad that nothing more serious happened to her what with all the reports I've read about people not surviving the ordeal.
