Sleeping For A Whole Year!

So, the New Year is upon us. What's new in the year 2010? I really wouldn't know cos I was asleep while the New Year was being ushered in. The only indication of the year crossing over from 2009 to 2010 was my opposite neighbours lighting fireworks and jolting me out of bed! At least they didn't blast those crackers for too long this time.

Yup, I ushered in the New Year by sleeping. I don't normally do something like that but I really didn't like the year 2009 and that was my way of showing it how I felt about it ... LOL! But seriously, I didn't feel like celebrating the New Year. And it's not because I'm in a bad mood or anything like that. I just didn't feel like it.

If what my dearly departed grandmother used to say is true, then I  guess for the year 2010 I'll be sleeping quite a bit (not like I haven't been doing that already). You see, my grandmother used to have this saying that whatever was the last thing you did as the old year ended and the new year begun would be the very thing you would be doing the most in the new year, so I guess I'll be sleeping a heck of a lot ... LOL!

It did feel good though going to bed in the year 2009 and waking up in 2010, made it feel like I slept for an entire year :D Looking out the window after waking up this morning indicates everything still looks the same though there was a certain aroma of new hope in the air ... ok, that may have been psychological but it did raise my spirits quite a bit. I really do hope that it's a much better year for everyone.

There really is nothing much I would like to say about the past year except good riddance! This is the year I become supreme ruler of the world, I just know it! I can feel it in my bones ... LOL! Yes, I have not given up my quest to become supreme ruler of the world and if you all support me, I promise to make it a 3 day work week for everyone :D

I guess you can all tell that I'm in a pretty decent mood on this first day of the year. Even waking up to the not good news of the price of sugar being increased which will in turn cause a nice domino effect for an increase in all food prices that involve sugar (and some that don't), which is practically everything and also the fact that white bread is no longer a control priced item, didn't really deter my spirits.

My new policy in life is that there are some things that you just cannot control so why get worked up about it. Just live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment of it.

There is this saying that wifey and me use quite a bit which we stole from the show True Blood which was uttered by that blurry brained Jason Stackhouse (Those of you who watch this show would know what I'm talking about) in an episode where he said 'God will show me the light' ... and it was a funny little episode that we both ended up using that line quite a bit ... LOL! Oh yes, we're both fans of True Blood :D

Speaking about TV shows and all that, Astro, our local (and only) satellite TV provider have now started broadcasting programmes in high definition, albeit for a few selected channels, which I happen to catch at my buddy's place and it looks cool. Makes me feel like subscribing to it too. But first I would need to get one of those fancy new led hdtv's to really enjoy some high definition broadcasting :D

With all that said and done, here's wishing all you guys a wonderful and happy 2010 :D

  1. A quiet new year celebration for us. Guess old age is catching up on me. Instead of a night of reveling, it was a night on the couch for me!

If what your late grandma is true, then I'll be eating, smelling of smoke (bbq) and laughing. Not too bad, I'd say.

  4. I prefer a quiet welcome of the new year than the elaborate one. Plus, I think it's good to sleep on the eve so that when new year arrives, you're wide awake with vitality and beauty! :P
Last year I slept when it turned 2009. Maybe THAT's why I slept a lot all through 2009! LOL..

  30. So this means I'll be awake the whole year! There's not much of a celebration nowadays so you didn't miss anything. Go on sleeping, lol!

Speaking of LEDtv, it's the reason why hubby's not listening to me when I told him we should get one of those flatTV's and ditch the old, bulky we have. All this time he's been waiting for this LED! Never told me a thing about it. :-)Well, you should get one, too according to him.
