Taipan Food Garden ... SUCKS!

I haven't done a bitch post in ages so I'm going to do one today on behalf of wifey and I think it's justified too.

We went out looking for a place to have dinner yesterday evening and as always wifey and me love to try out eating a places we've never been before. There is this  place in Taipan USJ we've been wanting to try for ages. It's a pretty new place and from the outside, they made the place look like a jungle paradise.

It's right opposite McDonalds and everytime we eat at McD's, we'd always say that we must try that place one day. So yesterday, we drove out looking for a place to eat and it just so happened that it rained rhinos and giraffes (which was welcomed cos of the heat wave we've been having) but we couldn't find a place to park that was shaded.

Fortunately this Taipan Food Garden, whose name you must remember so you won't waste your time going there, had a basement parking. Since we wanted to try this place for so long, we considered it a stroke of good fortune to find a shaded parking in Taipan during dinner time. Those of you who know the Taipan area would know how difficult it is to even find an empty parking bay let alone a shaded one.

Before I even get into why wifey hates this place (and so do I) let me tell you once you go in the decor is horribly done that it's so painful to the eyes. Food wise, they really didn't have anything decent, just your average run of the mill everyday stuff like Wanton mee, fried noodles, chicken rice, etc, etc. It was more like a food court. We honestly wanted to go elsewhere but it was pouring buckets out there.

With no other choice, we started ordering our drinks and food. Now that's where we got disgusted with the place. After taking our drink orders and when the drinks finally came, wifey handed the waiter a RM50 bill. The waiter walks off and comes back and dumps the RM50 bill back to wifey and says she doesn't have change.

What? A food establishment doesn't have change for a miserable 50? Come on, you got to be kidding me. And she just stood there and glared at us like as if it was our fault for not having smaller change. There is one thing wifey hates is when people ask her for small change. She was fuming!

First of all, if we had smaller change we would have given it to you. Secondly, you're running a business that deals in cash and you're telling me you don't have small change? Come on, you expect me to fall for a lame excuse like that? And even then, you don't have to be an ass about it. What if we really didn't have smaller change? What would happen? We would have had to wash the dishes?

With her standing there like an idiot, wifey dug into her purse trying to find smaller change cos I definitely didn't have any small change on me. Fortunately, she had some loose change lying around in her purse and she just dumped the money on the table for waiter to pick up. Trust me, wifey was fuming mad by then. If that waiter had given her further grief, she'd probably have wallop her ... LOL!

But seriously, I was pissed off as well. Where is your customer service la? You expect your customers to always have small change with them? As a business, you have to satisfy your customers and not the other way round. Well, suffice to say we will never go there for dinner again. Oh and the food was pretty pathetic too. Seriously, if you're in the area and happen to want to try this place, don't waste your time cos TAIPAN FOOD GARDEN SUCKS! Big time!

  5. I'll stay away from that place! If I lived near it anyway! How rude. How do they expect to make a living or go on customer recommendation if that's how they behave?
