RIP Punch

I woke up this morning to the news of the passing of badminton legend Datuk Punch Gunalan. Apparently he was battling with liver cancer for sometime and it got the better of him. I'm saddened by this news as he was really in a class of his own.

He was a household name in the 70's and put Malaysia on the world map with his excellent skills in both the single and doubles events and represented the country in the Thomas Cup, All-England and Asian Games.

Rest in peace, Punch Gunalan, you did us proud!

  1. Quite shocking really, and a bit scary seeing that my parents are already in their 60s

    1. Yes, I agree, very shocking. What's worse is I know of younger healthy marathon runners just falling dead, let alone those in their 60's! Life really is unpredictable at times!
