Ordinarily this PR thing wouldn't bother me but ever since I started doing paid postings, it does in a huge way affect the kind of assignments I get. Currently I'm down to not getting any assignment because of this. Sigghhh ... it's a good thing I don't depend on paid postings for a living.
But that's not really what bugs me. What bugs me is the principle of the matter and what I read on Diamonds Sapphires blog about probable reasons why my PR was docked to Zero. In fact I'm not the only one. Anyway, I'm feeling too moody to explain why, but you guys can read it at the PPP/IZEA blog and find out for yourself.
Those of you who are doing loads of paid postings should at least take a look at this article and then maybe just check your Page Rank status and you just might be a little surprised. I'm going to take a sabbatical from blogging until next week cos I'm just so not in the mood. Happy weekend folks.

ReplyDeleteBut psstt... a little birdy told me that PPP might not be using Google PR soon for the opps in their website. They might wanna go for something that REALLY shows you your real PR. Something like.. RealRanks.

ReplyDeleteratu is right Nick. The action google to was because people mentioned the name of the company they did them for. They all have us talk about being accepted and how great it is and then we get paid for it. That is what did it.

ReplyDeleteI am saddened to read that Google does this. One more example of corporate manipulation. It disgusts me. But I have to wonder, Nick my friend, what is your real goal in blogging? Is it to make money, to write, to share? I think the spirit of our intent will always come across in the effort and I hope that blogging for blogging's sake will still remain your passion.

I'm just pissed at the whole principle of the matter, where is the fair play, it's an open playing field out there and competition should be a good thing but you're right when you say that's corporate manipulation. I'm not changing my insane blogging style, so no worries about that issue :)

But yeah.. I heard the same thing about PPP. They're starting that with the release of their new Argus program, if I'm not mistaken.

ReplyDeleteOh I must read Diamond's article on this PR thingy. Are u saying that ur PR dropped cause of the paid postings? From 4 to 0 is a big drop, hopefully it's just temp and ul get back to at least a 2 soon! Don't despair Nick! :):):)
ReplyDeleteMarzie, according to the articles I've read, that seems to be the cause. But I've given up letting it bug me, they call dock my PR to -10 for all I care. But thanks for the vote of confidence, a 2 does sound better than a big fast Zero ... LOL!
ReplyDeletethat same thing happened to me nick and i just couldn't believe my eyes that i had to actually check my pagerank last night for more than ten times at different intervals, just when i got to work this afternoon, i also had to do the same thing, to satisfy my paranoia, i just can't believe this is happening and i haven't even done a lot of paid postings...anyway, i am still hopeful for another pagerank in the next months....
