Here's a follow up to my 'Tell Me Why I Don't Like Mondays ...' posting I did yesterday. Sometimes Monday's can turn out to be alright after all ...
Immediately after work, in fact I left work early yesterday and headed right home. Wifey didn't cook last night, she just cooked for the two boys only, so we decided to go out and have dinner at the Chinese restaurant across our house. We left the boys at home cos my mom was in to keep an eye on them.
We ordered our usual favourite dishes, waited to be served and the food came pretty quick and was tasty even. We were quite stuffed by the time we finished cos they served generous portions. Though the food was a little bit over priced I didn't complain cos it was tasty.
After dinner we decided to head to the mini market a couple of doors away and as we were walking towards it, this man stops us and says ...
'Sir, madam, come in, come in, everything going for 50% off, hurry, hurry'
I was slightly startled by him. So wifey and me stop to see just what he was blabbering about and besides he was like standing right in front of me and blocking me from proceeding any further.
'Oh no, Monday is still not done with me yet' I think.
But it wasn't as bad as I made it out to be. This guy was actually the owner (I think) of this pharmacy that was having a closing down sale and he was just trying to inform us that everything in the pharmacy was going for 50% off. So, we went in and true to his word, every single item was half priced.
Unfortunately though, the pharmacy was almost empty of its products so wifey and me grabbed whatever we could find that was worth buying, well, everything was worth buying at 50% off ... LOL! We did manage to buy quite a a bit of stuff like Hazeline facial wash (ok, ok, I'll admit, it was for me ... LOL!), Dove Shower creams, plasters, loads of chewing gum (yes, yes, chewing gum), some stuff that wife said was good for constipation, etc, etc.
The best part was when it came to paying cos everything was half priced and I think it was a great deal. Wished we could have got more things though, but all the good stuff was already sold off. There were still loads of baby food and milk powders and stuff but we didn't have a need for them unless of course honey you wanna go make a new baby ... LOL! But it would have been a steal for those with babies. Those milk powders were real cheap. Oh and none of the products were expired goods. I checked :)
I came out of there feeling pretty happy with myself. I guess Monday decided to give me a break from the hell it put me through earlier in the day after all ... LOL! And to top it off, I came back and read that Shemah's little girl had an incident with gripe water and the poor girl was rushed to the hospital a little earlier today but things turned out fine for her little girl though. She's okay now. Phew, Monday sure isn't a great day for many of us. Glad it's over!
Pharmacy gg at 50%, i will be buried inside the goods I think. LOL :)
ReplyDeleteCheap milk powders, I will have 2nd tots about getting them actually but you said they haven't expired.... hmmmm, mebbe can consider !! keke....
I didn't have a good start yesterday too. I nearly lost a great friend due to my words. I'm glad we are ok now :)
Janice Ng
Janice, I wanted to buy everything I could afford but most of the items were already sold out. I guess I went too late.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, another Monday casualty. Glad things worked out between you and your good friend.
Mondays are never easy for anyone of us but they are inevitavble for sure. I guess the only way out would be to declare Mondays as Tuesdays and then we could have 2 Tuesdays :P
ReplyDeleteOr else we could even get rid of Mondays at all, like there arent any!! :D
Anyways hope next Monday to you and all your dear ones would be great!! Like it is not Monday at all :)
Love reading your blog therefore added you to my blogroll, hope you dont mind this :)
Take care and have a nice rest of the week :)
Just a nice girl - If there were no Monday's I'd probably be hating Tuesday's so there really is no pleasing me at all ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteNo problems about adding me to you blogroll.
Oh chewing gum! I wish we have them here. I always buy some juicy fruits for my kids when i travel. but can't buy too many cos they'll consficate at our customs. :-(
ReplyDeleteAw man! I love pharmacies! Everything half price? Darn, I should have been there!!
ReplyDeleteI go crazy at pharmacies esp. when there are sales. 50% you said? Excellent bargain I must say, lucky for you and wifey:D
ReplyDeleteooOOooo.. 50% on baby formula?? Man, that's crazy.. My hubby will go crazy for anything half priced. Even if I don't need corned beef, he'll get it anyway because it's half priced. tsk tsk tsk..
ReplyDeleteAnyways, yeah.. yesterday was pretty bad. Today was waaayyy better. Glad that Allie is doing fine now.. :D Enough drama to give Bold and Beautiful a run for their money. Or airtime. LOL!
*laughs* I try my best not to step into a pharmacy cause I won't leave without at least 1 purchase, even though I don't need anything! It would usually be toiletries. Useless!
ReplyDeleteI would've stocked up too! Btw, I'm a true believer of Hazeline snow he he he...it's cheap and very effective! :):):)
ReplyDeleteOOOOh I love me a SALE. any sale.
ReplyDeleteBT - oh yeah, you guys can't have chewing gum. I suppose it does have its good and bad point, ya, especially when you step on one, I curse the inconsiderate person who doesn't dispose his gum properly!
ReplyDeleteSyura - yeah, you should have been here but unfortunately by the time I found out about it, all the good stuff were already gone ...
ReplyDeleteSweetiepie - yes, everything including the kitchen sink was going for 50% ... LOL! Hey, I think every woman and a few men I know go crazy at sales la ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteShemah - LOL! I know a friend who does the exact same thing as your hubby.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think there was anything that could ever give the Bold & Beautiful a run for its money ... LOL!
Haizum - LOL! Isn't that what every woman who steps into a pharmacy would do?
ReplyDeleteMarzie, I would have stocked up much more too but unfortunately the store was almost devoid of goods by the time I was 'hijacked' into it.
ReplyDeleteOh, the hazeline snow facial was is way cool got minty feeling after washing your face some more ... LOL!
Meleah - the day any woman doesn't love a sale would be the end of humanity as we know it ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhoa That's right man... every woman loves a sale. HAHA So lucky that you chanced upon this one! :)
ReplyDeleteBobo,LOL! Actually I know some guys who love sales too ... which makes me question their gender at the moment ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteahhh too bad it wasnt here or any Watson stores having the 50% sale. :(
ReplyDeleteChegu Carol, actually to be honest, I like going to Watsons, but keep that under your hat or my macho image is going to be ruined ... LOL!
