The Road Trip ...

What can I say? Mondays are evil and should be banished to eternal damnation for all eternity. I swear Monday's just come snickering around waiting to pounce on me every single darn week! Please, bear with me while I scream my lungs out here in the blogsphere:

'ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'

There, that felt much better. Not that it's going to improve my mood for today one bit, but it felt better! And part of the culprit for ruining my Monday, in fact my whole week even is my wonderful car! Yes, that bum again. My car is a guy so I can call him a bum!

It's started giving me it's usual mechanical headaches again. You know, sometimes I don't know whether that car hates me or likes me? I can't really tell the difference anymore. For one thing, he tends to run just fine when I'm short of cash, but the moment I get my hands on some extra cash, the bum can instantly smell it and would start acting up.

That's why I really can't tell if he likes me or not. I mean, he will almost never break down when I'm short of funds and would only act up the moment I have extra cash with me. It never fails, not ever! Now, you could read that as my car being nice and considerate to me. It doesn't want me to suffer by breaking down when I'm broke and so it waits till I have money and then it breaks down. Or you could look at it as having a dementedly mean streak and just love seeing me spend whatever extra money I have on him.

What do you think? You think my car likes me or hates me? Which is it? Come on, speak up already ... LOL! I'm confused. I'm leaning more towards the part that he hates me, he has this sick demented perversion of seeing me part with my hard earned money on him. It just can't let me spend my money on more important and practical things like a Sony PS3, an Xbox or something. What? Those are practical stuff, ok :D

Anyways, the darn demented evil thing is at the mechanics at the moment being fixed for something really expensive and I'm carless for the whole day or maybe even two. I hate not having my own transport. As silly as this may sound, I seriously have no idea how to take a taxi or even a bus over here! Yes, it's true.

Ever since the day I bought my first ever car, I've almost never taken a taxi or a bus. If I had to send my car for repairs back then, I'd always borrow a car from a friend or even the mechanic for the duration of the repairs unfortunately this time there was no spare car available. If the car isn't fixed by today, I'm going to have some major difficulties getting home. I should have brought my running shoes and just run home after work ... LOL!

I'll probably try and borrow the office van just to get home and back to work the next day seeing as how the van isn't used by anyone after office hours and is just parked here outside my office anyway. It would sure beat having to figure out how to get a taxi or even a bus ... hahaha ... I told you I was really serious when I said I didn't know how to use public transport.

Maybe after it's fixed I may take a nice sabbatical from work, grab the family and go on a road trip driving around in Germany or something, you know, maybe visit a few of the more famous cities like Berlin, Frankfurt, Köln or even Munich. It sure would be a great thrill to take my junk of a car and cruise along that famous Autobahn they have. Though I doubt if they'll let a car as slow as a turtle on that high speed motorway ... hehehe ...

Well, if they don't allow me on their Autobahn's, then there's always the other federal roads like the Bundesstraßen that I could mosey along and tour the country. I'm sure they'll let me on those roads. Accommodations shouldn't be too much of a problem cos there are loads of Berlin Hotels, Köln Hotels, Frankfurt Hotels and even Munich Hotels that are conveniently located for last minute travelers by road. And I would really be tempted to actually go on a road trip if I wasn't afraid my car would fall apart on me the moment I drive out of my driveway! LOL!

  1. Yah, you should take the office van! Like you, I haven't taken public transport for a long time. It would take me a while to figure out what buses or train to take.

  5. BT - Well, I'm definitely taking the office van home. I don't think I'd be able to figure out the public transport over here ... LOL! I don't even know if there is a bus stop near my office, can you believe that? ... hehehe ...

  12. My car is EVIL! I'm leaking power steering fluid and I've been waiting for over a week for the part to come in and then it has a flat tire while I was driving it. Yep, it hates me!

  13. Monica - At least you know how to take a cab, I'd still be lost even trying to do just that ... LOL!

  14. The World According To Me - It does tend to love making me feel miserable. It should be fixed by today, at least I hope it will be ...

  15. Haizum - You think so? Hmmmm, I'm still undecided at the moment though ... hehehe ... Well, you're right though, at least it's considerate enough to go bust when I have extra cash ...

  17. G'day Nick,

I have 7, yes that's SEVEN posts, to read here so if it looks like I'm lurking a long time it's just that I am not leaving your blog until I am done. I will leave it sitting on the screen and will have to go back and forth. I keep falling asleep if I read too long. Now don't take that the wrong way. I fall asleep no matter who's blog I'm reading :) Phew....nice save Gypsy, I think you may have got away with that one.

Anyway my car is ancient and is going down for the final count so it doesn't really react either way if I have money or not. She's terminal, God rest her soul...... but I have noticed that whenever I think we're about to get ahead a little bit financially an unusually large bill will come in and put paid to that idea.

  18. Nick! Okay, so maybe I haven't dropped by in awhile, but ummmm, last time I checked you live in Malaysia?

I don't think you'll have to worry about car repair expenses if you don't get broke filling up your car with our ultra expensive gas just to go on your road trip :)

Would be nice though. I've always wanted to see Germany. It's one of the things I need to do before I become old :)

  19. Gypsy - LOL! That's going to take you at least the better half of the day! ok, ok, I get it, my postings are a good cure for insomnia ... LOL!

Yeah, they can smell extra money a mile away ... It never fails, no matter what. When there's extra cash with me, it goes for the car ... sighhhh ...

  20. Sharon - Hahaha, yes, I still do live here (sometimes I wonder why I'm still living here though!)

Oooooo yeah, I never thought of that. The darn gas price. But then my office takes care of my gas so maybe the trip will be on them ... hahaha ...

I've always wanted to see Germany and Scotland too and I hope to see them at least once in this lifetime :D

  21. Hi Nickk!! You and your Mondays.. Maybe you should do some sorta law of attraction to make your Mondays better.. AH! I dunno la.. just get a new 'toy'! Ya ya!! Xbox 360!! or a new car! :P

    ReplyDelete
  22. Our van has a mind of his own and so far he's still quite 'obedient'.... unlike our previous car, who will ALWAYS BREAKDOWN whenever my bill is flashing red!

    ReplyDelete
  23. since you had money to pay for the problem, you car LIKES you.

Nothing is worse than leaving your car unfixed in a garage for weeks when you cant pay for it to be fixed!

Okay so a lot of things ARE worse, but you get the idea....

  24. Syura - Yeah, me and my Mondays. I swear it's out to get me la ... LOL! I don't think anything I could do, short of jumping off a bridge would appease Monday ... hahaha ...

The Xbox 360 sounds much better than a new car ... LOL!

  25. Angeline - First of all, welcome to my blog :D

Hahaha, guess I'm not the only one that has a car with a mind of its own. Well, here's hoping your van remains obedient :D

    ReplyDelete
  26. Meleah - You have a good point there. I guess it's better than having the bum break down when I'm broke, ya?

But I still think it's EVIL though .. LOL!

  27. Aiyo...car problems again ah? When are u gonna seriously consider trading in for a brand new set of wheels? Hopefully soon yeah, now that u're making some xtra money online! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Marzie - Yeah, car problems again but then, what else is new with me ... LOL!

Aiyo Marzie, a new set of wheels cost lots of money la so I'll settle for my present car until I make enough extra money online ... hehehe ...
