True enough, the chirping and squealing came back a few hours later, though not as loud as before I sent it in but it was noticeable all the same. I knew it. I knew it wasn't alright yet! Why do my instincts have to be so darn accurate at times. And the sounds got even louder and lasted much longer than before. I drove back seething to the mechanic and gave him grief about a job not well done.
And he in return said that the sounds were from something else. Why didn't you fix it then, I countered in the most annoying and angry tone I could muster. I was feeling too down by then to even work up a screaming fit or anything. He said he'll look at it again. And since it was about closing time and being a Friday, I said I'll send it back on Monday.
And what happens? The darn fellow doesn't open shop for 2 whole days until today! So there I was left with a rather embarrassing squeal coming from my car everytime I turned left that even my younger boy was hiding his head way down low when I sent him to school. I don't blame him, I felt like hiding my head down low too from all the racket my car was emitting!
Anyway, I sent it over to him today and thankfully he is open today. The car us now jacked up on one of those whatchamacallit machines and has both the front tires and absorbers and whatnots removed and it doesn't look like it's going to be a cheap job. I wonder what I paid him to repair for the other day? What a waste of money when it didn't rectify anything at all!
Looks like my card bills this month is going to take a huge increase in debts. Like as if I don't have enough card debts to last me a lifetime already. Maybe I should go do a credit card comparison out there and see if there is one card that can help me reduce my card debts. And I was told that there is a site that provides one of the best credit card comparisons around and that I could check it out here: http://www.creditcardflyers.
Sometimes I think the world doesn't really like me all that much. It just loves to see me in misery all the time. Why can't I go through just one month without having to fork out good money for something or other. If it's not the car, it's something else. I even think there are some people up there assigned just to look out for me and everytime they see me breathing a little easier, they probably gleefully jump up and down going,
'Hey look, good old Nick is having fun again, lets screw his life around a little bit. What devious thing can we do to him today? I know, lets screw his car up again!'
Siggghhh, I'm really not in a good mood today and feel lower than pond scum right now. In fact I feel so low that I don't feel like blogging at all. I just feel like finding a nice cupboard somewhere and maybe discover a secret entrance that leads into a Narnia like land where I can escape all this crap for a little while.
'Good God, Nick! You must be feeling really lousy if you don't feel like blogging!"
Maybe later in the day or something when I find out what really is wrong with my car I'll do some blog hopping. In fact I think I'll take a walk there now (the shop is just a few doors away form my office) and see just how much further he can ruin my day. And I don't doubt that he can ...
.
oh gawd. I hate it when I have those feelings. It makes me so uncomfortable and it sux when you're right! anyways hope ur car will be ogie. ReplyDeleteHmm, when you are in a better mood and your car's fixed, hop by my blog to claim a tag yeah..
Meanwhile, cheer up.
Don't get so upset.
Time to sell ur car to some Liverpool supporter, they usually buy junk! :-)
ReplyDeleteLMAO reading Gallivanter's comment!!
ReplyDeleteMaslight - Jahat la you ... you exactly like my son la ... LOL! Lucky my son hasn't insisted on walking to school yet ... :D
ReplyDeleteKM - Yeah, the car is up to its tricks again. I'll drop by soon and check out the tag. Thanks anyway :D
ReplyDeleteGallivanter - ROTFL! You got a point there buddy!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it is time to change a mechanic (well, both mechanics). Or better yet, go learn how to repair your own car. I know how it feels when the car works up. I feel really insecure, like anytime the wheel will fall out or something.
ReplyDeleteAgain?! Gosh, you should really get rid of that car... I mean you could use the amount of $$ that you are paying the mechanic to pay for the new car's installments...
ReplyDeleteHoping the cost won't be a bomb ya
Nessa - Apa ketawa-ketawa nie? Nanti I sell my car to Man U, baru ko tau ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteSting my friend, you have a good point there but at point of time I don't want to be saddled with a new car installment so I'm going to have to suffer with the consequences I guess.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping it doesn't cost a bomb too ...
BT - I really wish I cud fix my own car, then I'd be a mechanic and make a killing charging people exorbitant repair bills ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteNick, you keep rats and birds in your car? *smile*
ReplyDeleteIf this is when you don't feel like blogging, then I just can't wait to read your interesting posts when you're up to it :-)
BTW, thanks for dropping by my 'silent' blog and it makes me feel good that someone cares.
Maybe you can get another person's opinion on your car?? since this mechanic cant solve the car problem? Hope your car would be okay for the coming long weekend!!
ReplyDeleteAgain????? I think you need to change your mechanic already..both are not doing soooo good job until now...Maybe you can come here in Sg.Buloh to get ur car fixed?? hehehe
ReplyDeleteOh dear. It sounds like it's a catch 22 situation, you need to buy a newer more reliable car, but where this one is costing you so much to fix, it's eating into the money you could be spending on another car. In the mean time you need a car to get you about, so you keep having to get this one fixed!
ReplyDeleteI dread anything going wrong with my car as I just don't have any spare money, I barely get through the month as it is! Oh to be rich hey!
Keep ya chin up. I know how frustrated you must be. Tomorrow will be a better day!
I'm not too sure where the answer truly lies here Nick. Either you need a new car or you definitely need a new mechanic. Both would be even better but I know how hard it is to raise that kind of cash these days.
ReplyDeleteIn the past week the kettle, the jaffle maker and the oven have packed up so join the money pit Nick. It sucks doesn't it?
Hey if you do go to Narnia land, don't forget to bring me along! ;)
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling much better by now :)
Again take it easy, man! And don't you think universe is conspiring against you because that's my saying! :o)
ReplyDeleteI hope you are well and feeling much better!!!
Car troubles are awful.
ReplyDeleteI think my car hates me.
ReplyDeleteHope your car is ok now. Got it fixed and everything is as good as brand new :)
ReplyDeleteMy car would have tobe sent to workshop too...again $$$ will just fly away. Sigh. :( How i really wish money do grow on trees..hehehe.
Blusher - Hey, good to see you here again.
ReplyDeleteIt'll probably be long winded ones ... LOL!
Rose - Maybe you're right. I just might need a new mechanic.
ReplyDeleteThe good news is he managed to figure it out and get it fixed already :D
Kadus Mama - If I could get the car moving I would la ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteI guess my car is kinda hard to diagnose at times ...
The World According To Me - A catch 22 it is!
ReplyDeleteTrust me, everytime my car breaks down it puts a huge dent in my wallet ... Sometimes I curse the day I ever learned to drive!
Gypsy - It sucks big time! Sometimes I wished money grew on trees :D That would be so cool wouldn't it?
ReplyDeletePerky - LOL! I'll bring all you guys to Narnia land with me when I find it la ...
ReplyDeleteI definitely feel way better than yesterday :D
Cidao - What? The universe is conspiring against you too my friend? Darn the universe ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteMeleah - That's putting it mildly :D
ReplyDeleteTammy - LOL! Join the club cos mine hates me too.
ReplyDeleteEmelda - I'm glad to say the car is working just fine :D
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your car too. Hope it doesn't cost too much. Oh and if you do find that money tree, please let me know ya? LOL!
