My Newfound Love ...

I'm going to make this a short post. Really I am. I don't think I have the time to write my usual long posts. Busy la today. Anyways, what I want to talk about is my newfound love. Yes, I have found a new love! I simply can't stay away from my newfound love. It's consuming every ounce of me. I met this newfound love last week and I simply can't get enough.

Now, before you go jumping to conclusions, let me tell you that my newfound love is actually chocolate chip cookies from Tesco (their own house brand) ... LOL! I've been snacking on it since I first bought it at Tesco last Saturday and I can't seem to stop. It's just so darn nice. Once you start, you just can't stop and keep popping them in your mouth non-stop.

I'm really not the chocolate chip cookies kinda person and I've long since given up on sweet things. You can say my sweet tooth is no longer sweet. I'm more the vaadai and sour cream and onion chips kinda person. When it comes to sweet stuff, I stay away from it. The only sweet stuff I eat on occasions would be chocolate cakes. And even then, not too much of it.

So, it was kind of a surprise that while shopping at Tesco over the weekend, I decided to buy their house brand chocolate chip cookies. I had no particular reason to buy it except for the fact that I liked the packaging. To be honest, I kinda like most of the Tesco house brand products cos for imported stuff, they're pretty cheap and pretty good as well.

So there I was buying chocolate chip cookies based on it's packaging design and was probably going to leave it lying there to be swiped by the kids or wifey seeing as how they all have a much sweeter snack preference than me. But then, I tried one just for the heck of it and also because I ran out of my kind of snack food. Now I've eaten chocolate chip cookies before and like I said, I find them a tad too sweet for my liking but the moment I bit into these Tesco cookies, it was like love at first bite ... LOL! And the picture below doesn't do justice to how lovely it tastes.

The cookies were just perfect, not too sweet and not too tasteless. And the chocolate chips were just nice that I instantly popped another one into my mouth. And before I knew it I wolfed down six to seven cookies in row and was instantly possessive of my cookies. Even when wifey asked for one, I looked at her with squinted eyes and reluctantly gave one to her ... LOL! Yes, yes, I'm VERY stingy with my snacks and even the boys know better than to ask me for some!

I think I almost finished all the cookies and now I'm just going to have to make another visit to Tesco to get more of them. I just adore those cookies. And this coming from one who dislikes sweet stuff! I just hope there is still some more left when I get home later. And honey, if you're reading this stay away from my chocolate chip cookies. You have your own biscuits ... LOL! Oh and we must go to Tesco soon to get more stock :D

This might sound like a free plug for Tesco but both wifey and me do love most of their house brand products. First of all, most of them are imported and very well packaged unlike the local ones that sometimes just frighten me off by their awful packaging alone. Secondly, for imported products, they're really cheap compared to some of the other products. Take for instance Shandy.

Wifey and me just love to drink Shandy (I've given up on the more heavier stuff like beer, well except for occasions) and we normally drink the Jolly or Anglia brands which cost, if I'm not mistaken about RM1.80 or something like that. Now, the Tesco brand of Shandy, yes there is a Tesco Shandy, costs only RM0.85!

When we saw the price we bought a whole load of it. Even the two boys wanted one each ... LOL! Next time we go there we're going to buy the whole carton which is less that RM20.00 for 24 cans. We're probably going to need a truck rental to lug all that Shandy back ... LOL! It's so much cheaper than Jolly and Anglia. And it tastes just about the same as the other two. Now, if they only had Tesco house brand beers, that would be awesome ... :D That goes the same for most of their other products like beans, jams, sauces, cookies, etc, etc ... And did I mention I love their packaging?

So now you all know about my newfound love already :D The next time I go there I'm going to buy a lot more of those cookies and hoard it like how I hoard my flavoured peppers. Who knows, now that I've told you guys all about it, you just might go out there and buy everything and deprive me of my newfound love for chocolate chip cookies ... LOL!
