You know what's worse than a broken leg? No? Well, I'll tell you. It's a god awful toothache!!! And that's what I'm suffering from right now. The whole right side of my face hurts, my gums are swollen and the pain just doesn't seem to subside for even a second. And because of this throbbing pain in my gums, I feel the coming ons of a darn headache.
I'm not really one who likes pain, well who does really, unless of course you're into that sort of stuff la. But I can stand a lot of pain. My threshold for pain is pretty high. I've gone through severe migraines, torturous tummy aches and even a hairline fracture on one of my fingers without even getting it treated. I don't have a problem withstanding pain like that but not a toothache!
I can't stand toothaches. They drive me crazy. Imagine this constant pain in your mouth that is so relentless that it just wont go away. I've had toothaches before and each and everyone of them hurt like crazy. You can't eat properly. You can't drive properly. You can't talk properly and once the headache joins in, all this pain will intensify by a factor of 10! I'm not looking forward to having to work with this pain.
And please don't ask me to go to the dentist. As far as I'm concerned I'd rather face a herd of rampaging elephants on steroids than have to go to the dentists ... LOL! I've just popped a couple of painkillers and it hasn't really taken effect yet. And since I'm such a coward, I'll just have to endure the pain like man. And until the swell in my gums subside and the pain goes away, I'm going to be irritable and grumpy. Don't say I didn't warn you.
And on a happier note, you all remember my poor mango tree which I had to cut to practically stumps because of my environmentally unfriendly neighbour? Well, the good news is, the leaves have started to grow back again :D And the leaves are now so much greener and I'm sure once the tree is in full bloom again, I'll be seeing loads of mango fruits popping out :D And I so love green mangoes.
This time though, once the leaves grow back properly, I'm not going to cut it again. I've honestly had enough of my neanderthal neighbour and his nonsense and if he starts making a fuss again that leaves are falling into his compound, I'll just tell him to take the issue up with God, cos I don't control the direction of the wind and where the leaves will end up falling!
.
*takes out a water pistol*
ReplyDeleteI'm also fobia even cannot tolerate with the smell of dental clinic.. Hehe..
ReplyDeleteBut last time a friend of mine, she is a Dentist now anyway, ever ask me to come to dental clinic for oral check up and he fix everything untill my case closed.. *free treatment cause she still a student back then*..
It is when I'm not longer afraid of visiting any dental clinic.. Well, if the service is free la of course.. However, still the pain is there..
But since then, I never have a chance to do oral check up as I'm pretty sure I need a scaling procedure to remove the stubborn culculus on my teeth.
Expensive ooo..
Just the other day i asked hubby about this toothache question..he told me, having a toothache is the most excruciating torture one can experience..
ReplyDeleteSo i guess, you are really in pain now..hope the pain killer will set in soon and make the pain go away..
Ahhh toothache, never like it *sigh, but I endure the pain most of the time. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, your neighbour must hate nature? @_@ I bet his house doesn't have any plants LOL
My mom's a dentist, and even then I hate having my teeth checked. I haven't gone to a dentist since highschool. Hehehe...

ReplyDeleteMaslight - My neighbour is a moron who hates nature la. You should see his house. So cold and uninviting! And yes, you're right, he doesn't have plants in his house ...
ReplyDeletePerky - What? You mom is a dentist? And you haven't disowned her yet? LOL!
ReplyDeleteI don't even remember the last time I visited a dentist. It's been that long.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI've just looked through your post and find it very interesting and amazing. The problems with the teeth are also very actual for me BUT neverthelaess I prefer to cope with it by visiting a dentist, though I understand you very well with your fears. Take care.
Share some of the mangoes will ya? Love green mangoes too. Oh and the toothache, look on the bright side! Watch the pounds shed like you lose hair after 30 days of not washing hair as a result of confinement! LOL..(and no not speaking fm experience here!)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Nick. If I were you..I'll sure have thought of going to the dentist first. Toothache is one of the unbearable pain i ever felt.
ReplyDeleteWhen i was in form 2, i had a very bad toothache and it happened at night time. I couldnt sleep and was moving up and down the house, crying until my dad also couldnt sleep and accompanied me till morning. All i thought when the sun came out next morning was to head to the dentist and had the tooth removed. Boy, the feeling was the best ever to have the pain taken away. LOL!
Well, hope the pain is ok by now.
The mango tree got leaves!!!! Yay!
ok, I'm going to shoot you with beer.. LOL
ReplyDeleteArrgg, toothache is the pits! It's a horrible pain, and I'm a real whimp when it comes to pain!
ReplyDeleteBut at least you're mango tree is growing back healthily.
Tsk, tsk, tsk...
ReplyDeleteHaven't you heard? An apple a day keeps the doctor away!
Just grin and bear it and let the dentist pulverize that sucker!
Of course, a little anaesthetic wouldn't hurt...
Yup, i do remember the mango tree you had, and how sad it was to read about why you had to cut it all short and bare..
ReplyDeleteWOW!! And it's all green now...and soon, you are going to enjoy it's fresh sweet fruits!! MANGO MANGO, MY FAVOURITE FRUIT ALL OF!!
Take care of that bad tooth of yours yeah...i only have bad news if you don't visit a dentist, you will feel this awful and painful for the rest of the week OR LONGER...so WHY WAIT? The pain is worst than facing a herd of rampaging elephants on steroids, or worst, TOOTHACHES!
Opps sorry, meant to keep my comment short and sweet...

ReplyDeleteMabrook - Hi there and welcome to my blog :D
ReplyDeleteA coward will always be a coward ... LOL! But the ache is subsiding already so that's a good sign :D
Missjolie - You're all free to just drop by and pluck as many mangoes as you like once it's starts fruiting :D

ReplyDeleteYa, I'm so happy the tree is leafing again. Can't wait for it to be a nice shady tree again :D
Monica - LOL! Make sure it's Tiger beer ok!
ReplyDeleteAiya, you really must go to the dentist lah. I used to be afraid too but I guess these days, dentists are not as scary as before. Better than suffering like that right? Maybe you can take a couple of painkillers while waiting to see the dentist so that when he's drilling and all that, you don't feel it too much.
ReplyDeleteAnd my, your mango tree is growing very nicely! Quite fast too. You'll be eating mangoes in no time.
Nick,
ReplyDeletetis what u do...
1. double your vitamin c dosage (am/pm)
2. get something to treat inflamation.
3. antibiotics -- get metranidazole (hope the spelling is correct). take the pain killer twice a day for five days. in 12 hour intervals.
4. get gengigel -- apply all of your gums -- massage the gel gentle. apply it three times a day after brushing your teeth.
5. get gengigel mouthwash... use 3 times a day.
hope it works for u :)
The World According To Me - At least I'm not the only one who is a wimp ... hehehe ... But yeah, toothaches are the pits!

You have my heartfelt sympathy Nick. I just had 10 teeth removed by the dentist in one hit. I had 12 injections and a couple of those nearly made me fly out of the chair in pain. Now I have my new dentures and after nearly two weeks I still can't eat properly.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the posts above yet but i am working my way through them. I hope to hear that your mouth is feeling a lot better now.
Gypsy - Injections, that's another thing I cannot stand! I'd faint at the sight of a needle ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteWell, the pain has gone away which I'm totally thankful for :D
