Is This The End?

All week I've been complaining about not having internet connection in the office and how it's putting a dent in my blogging schedule and now that I actually have my connection back, I have absolutely no inspiration or motivation to blog! That fire that I had where the need to blog and post something everyday seems to have deserted me in the last week.

I guess not having any internet connection in the office for one whole bloody week has sort of put a damper on my need to blog. I've been sitting here all day and the desire just never came. It's not like me to ignore my blog. I am the kind who MUST check and at least post something in blog or the day wouldn't be complete.

When I first started blogging, my good buddy Adrian said that I probably would get fed up of this blogging thing pretty quick. I have this very short attention span for things. He knows me pretty well. After all we've been friends for god knows how long. I was inclined to agree with him but eventually I ended up getting addicted to blogging. And he was pretty surprised that I actually hung on for so long. Hey, I was even surprised by it ... hehehe ...

But the past week has put a different perspective to blogging for me. No, I'm not giving it up. Far from it. I'm still an addict in a way. It's just that without connection, I found so many more things that I could do with my life like catch up on my reading which I've long since put aside. Before my blogging days, you wouldn't see me without a book. Then blogging came along and my books took a back seat.

The whole of last week, I was complaining to wifey about how I'm wound up from not being able to blog at the office and kept on telling her that the moment I get home, I'm going to pry her away from the home system and blog till late at night.

And when I actually got home, while waiting for wifey to finish her sessions, I picked up a book I've never read before and got so hooked to reading that when she was done, I told her to shut down the computer cos I wanted to just lie in bed and read.

She was flabbergasted!

'You don't want to blog???'
she said.

'Good Lord almighty!!!' She bellowed.

'What's wrong with you? Are you okay? Are feeling well? Should I call the doctor?'
She asked.

I had to actually laugh at her utter bewilderment.

'Yeah honey, I really don't want to blog. I just want to read' I replied.

She shakes her head in amazement and comes join me in bed, touches my head to make sure I have no fever and gives me this weird look .. LOL! And yeah, since then I've been caught up with my reading, fixing stuff around the house that I've procrastinated for so long, fixed a leaky bathroom and lots more and not once did I feel the urge to log on and blog!

I must really be losing it. The only time I actually logged on was to do my assignments. And even then I didn't have too many with my blog again being downgraded to a page rank of zero! Again!

I guess it'll take a little while for me to get back the desire to blog like what I had just a week back. The 'internetless' phase I had kinda put things in more perspective, that there is a life other than blogging out there ... hehehe ... But I suppose Monday has something to do with this lack of desire to blog. Hey, I hate Mondays so I tend to blame everything bad that happens on Mondays :D

Maybe I need to go for a vacation, somewhere like las vegas nv, forget about all my headaches and problems that I have. Take a nice break, come back refreshed and then see if the desire to blog will come back.

Anyways, I don't even have the mood to write my usual long winded postings so I'm going to stop here for now before I bore each and everyone of you to death with my lackluster mood. Maybe tomorrow that need to blog feeling will come back with a vengeance ... LOL! Till then, you all have a great week ahead ...

  2. well, I guess we all go thru that once in awhile... but when you find yourself saying "Oh I must make a mental note of this and post about it" you know you are back on track! :-) Meanwhile, enjoy your book..

  3. It's exactly true what sting said. Coming back from Raya in Tawau, I feel the same way. But it's hard to get back in the groove.. even all my "mental notes" on the things I wanted to post about, all just end up in my drafts. I even passed up on a couple assignments. I knowwwww.. me pass up on a couple of assignments?? LOL!

Btw, What book are you reading? Maybe you could tell us about that?

  42. Wow Nick. I thought I was completely immune from being shocked but you got me. I can't believe what I'm reading. Having said that though, since I have been on a hiatus I have read books, done a lot of chores that had been put off for a long time and just generally got a lot more out of my days than when I am sitting in front of the computer for hours on end.

  43. Maybe you should really take a break and go for a long holiday or something. Perhaps when you return, you will get your inspiration to blog again.
I think this happens to all of us. But when I don't feel like blogging, I normally write shorter posts and end up reading other people's blogs more : )

    ReplyDelete
  44. Gypsy - You sort of put life into much more perspective when you put blogging aside, ya? Hope to see you blogging again one day ...
