Little Girl In The Kitchen

I’ve lived in the current place that I’m staying for some years now. And throughout our entire time here, we’ve never experienced anything weird happening in the house. The only weird things that happen are my neighbours and their antics.

But this morning, my younger boy had an encounter with the supernatural and it made my skin crawl and hairs stand on end when wifey related the incident to me. I know I’m going to have a tough time sleeping tonight but yet I’m equally intrigued by it cos it’s just like the movies.

The boys are on their school break until next year when the new school term begins. My younger boy is a pretty funny fellow. When he has to go to school, he sleeps late and when he’s on school break he wakes up real early. And when I say real early, it’s like somewhere between the hours of 6am onwards, way before wifey and me wakes up even.

Normally at that hour over here, the place is still dark and the little fellow is not too bothered about the darkness. He’ll head downstairs on his own, walk into the kitchen, get himself a drink and then head to the hall and watch TV until wifey wakes up to make his breakfast.

Now today when wifey woke up, he came to her and related an incident that happened to him around 6am or so when he was in the kitchen getting a drink. He told wifey that as he was at the sink he turned around and he saw this little girl holding a teddy bear standing just a few feet away. Now, that’s all fine and dandy but I don’t have a little girl living in the house with us!

Wifey said maybe he was imagining it or maybe it was just a reflection of light or something. He insisted that what he saw was real and he even said he saw her standing there in the kitchen clutching a teddy bear and just looking at him. He even said she had legs and all that. And though he was shocked he didn’t panic or anything (what a brave young lad, I would have fainted! LOL!) and did whatever he needed to do and when he turned back she was missing.

And that brave little lad was even brave enough to sit outside all by himself and watch his daily morning cartoons. Like I said, as long as we’ve lived there, nothing really weird has happened there. This is quite a shock to me. Wifey and I don’t think he was hallucinating. That boy is not the kind to tell tall tales, as bratty as he may be. Wifey said he calmly told her what he saw and I don’t see a reason for him to make up something like that.

Though I’m a little freaked out but I am curious all the same as to who the heck that little girl clutching a teddy bear is? Nothing bad has happened in this house as far as I know. I’ve been downstairs all by myself countless times at nights watching TV and though sometimes I do feel like there is a presence there or I glimpse a quick shadow or things like that which I put down to my cowardly nature and light reflections.

Nothing of the sort that my son experienced this morning has ever happened. Actually seeing the full figure of a little girl clutching the teddy bear (Maybe it’s a sign that I’ll win Marzie’s name the teddy bear contest? LOL!) is something hard for me to comprehend. Maybe it’s a roaming spirit that followed him back from the park that he goes to or something. You know the old wives tale about not playing outside at 6 o’clock cos spirits will follow you back and that boy is still at the park during that time anyway. I don’t know of any other plausible explanation for this.

He’s quite sure that what he saw was real and I had goosebumps just listening to wifey relate the story to me. She was reluctant to tell me at first cos she knows what a coward I am and would probably have trouble sleeping at night but she relented when I kept harassing her to tell me. Now on hindsight, maybe I should have not been too persistent!

It’s like a scene from a movie, you know, walking into the kitchen and finding a figure just standing there and looking at you. I’m going to have some pretty frantic moments going into the kitchen alone at nights until I get to the root of the problem. I hope it was all just his imagination but somehow, I don’t think it is and wifey kinda senses that too.

She has on occasions also felt a presence and seen shadows in the kitchen when she’s down in the kitchen on her own preparing the boy’s breakfast before school but just like me, she passed it off as an overly active imagination and reflections of light but now she’s not so sure anymore.

I’m going to monitor the situation the next couple of days and see if any further development crops up or not. No doubt I’m the worlds biggest coward but I’m also the worlds most curious person when it comes to things supernatural and I’m going to be armed with my camera for the next couple of days, who knows, if there really is a little girl clutching a teddy bear I just might be able to capture it on film!

I just hope if it is really true, the little girl is not the really evil kind that you see on TV cos if that was the case, you can bet your bottom dollar I’d be moving out of there in a hurry!

  4. If I had seen the girl I think I would have screamed!
So there's no history of little girls in your house that you know of? I wonder who she was? I totally believe in spirits, although I have never seen one myself.
Let us know if she turns up again! She sounds harmless enough to me!

  21. Like kadus_mama I have goosebumps reading this post. I mean I'd normally skip this whole post but somehow I end up reading it. Darn it. >.<""" and erm I'm a coward when it's related to supernatural beings. @_@ I mean, even a slight smell or feeling that will trigger my imagination. Oh you don't wanna know what I imagine. I swear once I sort of felt being crushed by something at my house. And I had my days where I slept with the lights on. Coz I owez woke up around 3am. I don't know why. I think that whole thing started when I watch this scary movie. But funny thing is, I was never this scared. Something must have triggered my erm nerves @_@ >.<"""

  23. but on second thought, it might be real, u know! coz there are spirits everywhere. Maybe she wants you to lift her up in the mass. Btw, are you a catholic?

coz i've got a catholic uncle who can sense spirit and he is like an instrument of God. God use him to lift these spirits up to Him in mass.

  36. I've heard that dogs and young children can see things that we don't. I quite often see my dogs staring at the ceiling with their hackles up and blowed if I can see anything there. I'm glad it's you living there and not me. That's creepy.
