The Day Off ...

While most of you are at work here I am sitting at home and blogging :D And it's all cos of the cool boss that I have. Yes, I think I have the world's coolest boss around.

I have some personal matters to attend to this afternoon. So yesterday I told my boss that I'm going to need to take a couple of hours, maybe even the entire afternoon off cos I don't know how long my stuff would take to clear. I expected it when he said no problem but I didn't expect it when he said,

'I think you don't need to come in and waste your time and petrol driving all the way to the office. Just take the day off.'

Now that was something I didn't expect but was totally pleased by it. Like I said, I think I have the worlds coolest boss :D I've been so much happier since I started working here. I have a boss who thinks and works along the same lines as me and it is so much easier to work in an establishment like this. Makes going to work not seeming like a chore.

In fact, I leave for work only at 9am or later and even then it's not because I'm one of those people who like coming to work late. I've been 'instructed' to come to work late by my boss so I can save on fuel and not have to battle the horrendous traffic that is synonymous with my place.

And I even get to leave pretty early if I've finished all my work and have nothing to do in the office, sometimes as early as 3 - 4pm! Since the day I've started I don't think I've ever left for home after 5pm and my office hours are officially from 9 - 6pm :D And this is not inclusive of all the coffee breaks we both take ... LOL!

Ok, enough about work. I think I'm going to need a diet pill that works pretty soon cos I've recently gotten hooked on eating doughnuts, Big Apple Donuts to be more precise.

I've never been much of a fan for doughnuts since young. Yes, I've eaten them and all that but if given a choice of doughnuts or something else, I'd pick something else. But a week or so ago, wifey and me were in Subang Parade, a mall near our place and she wanted to grab some doughnuts from Big Apple and she kinda of 'persuaded' me to get some for myself too. I was reluctant at first but gave in after a while.

Besides I've read on so many peoples blogs out there how great these doughnuts are. And well, after one taste, I was instantly hooked on it and even forced wifey to follow me out to Subang Parade again the next day to get some more! LOL!

And on the way back from work yesterday, I even drove out of my usual route home just to stop and buy more doughnuts. I can't get enough of the darn thing and judging by the way I'm wolfing them down and not exercising, I'm going to look like a lump of dough pretty soon!

I'm the kind of person who will always insist on not trying something but once I do try it, I can't get enough of it. My two best friends know this trait of mine pretty well. They've always been trying to get me to eat all kinds of stuff but I'll refuse for as long as I can but then one fine day when I try it, I'll only want to eat nothing but that particular item forever ... LOL!

And right now, even I as I type this post, my cravings for doughnuts are building up and I'm sure after getting all my personal stuff done later this afternoon, I'm going to stop by and get another half dozen of them sinful doughnuts!

  1. HAHAHA! Yar those gourmet doughnuts are sure tasty and addictive. In fact, the smell are also unique compare to other doughnuts such as dunkin donuts for example. I have a way to cure your gourmet doughnuts craving, think of the $$ you are paying for one of those babies and multiply them by 7 days or 30 days and you will DEFINITELY force yourself to stop! hahaha

  7. What a great boss! I think I would make a good boss, I would insist everyone left early and join my staff on long coffee breaks. It makes sense not to over work and stress yourself out!
