Crystal Ball On The Table, Showing The Future, The Past ...

... Those are the words to Cliff Richard's song titled 'Devil Woman'. Do you believe in fortune tellers? I sure as hell don't. But today while waiting for the boys to finish Sunday school, wifey and me headed to the nearby hypermarket to pass the time. We'll normally just wander around aimlessly and make fun of everything and everybody like we always do. Yeah, we're quite the notorious pair in this particular hypermarket ... LOL!

Anyway, while on one of those aimlessly w0ndering around sessions, I came across this gypsy fortune telling cum weighing machine. You know the kind, where you put in 20 cents and it this mechanical display starts spinning this wheel of fortune like thingy and lights start to flash and all all that.

Well, I couldn't resist trying it out. I asked wifey for 20 cents and jumped on the machine. I was kinda excited to see what the darn gypsy machine would tell of my fortune but I was also kinda worried that it was going to scream at me saying,

'Get off the scale you fat pig!'

I haven't weighed myself in years and the last known weight of mine was 64 or so kgs, which is sort of okay for my height. So, with a slight feeling of dread, I slip in the coin, brace myself while it whirs, clicks, pops, hums, spins and then with a loud resounding hiss, it spits out this piece of card with my weight and my fortune.

Well, the bad news is I'm up by 2.5kgs! OHMYGOD! I really need to stop eating so much rice. I guess it's back to my salad for dinner time again.

But then the fortune part was a riot. I showed it to wifey and she looked at me, rolled her eyes and said,

'Well, at least it got the ALTHOUGH not easy to live with part correct'

And then laughed her head off! The cheek of her. LOL! But she has a point. I can be a pretty hard person to live with at times, what with me being a grouch and having extremely stubborn tendencies half the time. I wonder how interesting a marriage partner I am to her? LOL!

I wonder what it'll say next week cos I intend to have my fortune read once again. Don't look at me like that. Can you think of anything else where you can have such 'fun' with just 20 cents? LOL!

  1. Haha..you tried that machine! I see it in shopping malls and just think they're waste of money and probably spilling out a bunch of pretty general stuff.

I don't believe in fortune telling. If those ppl are right, there won't be so much wrong going around coz it would all be solved..wouldn't?

  2. Aiyoh! Don't waste your 20sen! Give me your 20sen and i will read your fortune for you. At the same time, also tell you whether you are overweight or not without giving you the exact number in kg so you don't feel so bad. haha!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Emelda - Yeah, those 'real' fortune tellers cost a bomb la and half the time they're just a bunch of fakes. I'd rather stick with this 20 cent 'fortune teller' ... LOL!

  26. u know, having 1 man, 1 boy, countless ex-boyfriends and now a husband, I can safely say that all males are grouchy most of the time. LOL. It's unfortunate but I seriously think it's true. we women have PMS once a month but men has PMS 24/7. I'm sure the ladies would agree with me :D

  27. Me and my gfs used to get our cheap thrills from these type of machines. There's one called the mouth of merlin (or at least that's what we call it. lol), where u insert your hand into the mouth & it'll give u a cert of your fortune reading. A cert okay! lol! I think we paid RM1 to play.

  28. If I find a machine like that in my place, I'd try it, too. Hahaa! You wouldn't know which is hard to live, your weight or your being a hard person to live. :-)

  29. Fortune telling is real dude. Don't believe it? I'd say try singing "Devil Woman" to your wifey, and you'll sleep on the couch tonight. Dare you to challenge my this fortune telling skill :)

    LOL

On a serious note, a person who says he/she is hard to live with is the easiest person to live with.

    ReplyDelete
  30. That was THE PERFECT fortune for you! HA!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Samantha - Hahaha ... where got la we men PMS 24/7 ... we do need to sleep too you know ... LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Perky - Gee, a cert? Does this machine still exist, I wanna go try it out. RM1 not so bad what ... LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Marlene - Hahaha ... I think me being a hard person to live with at times wins out ... LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  34. The Real Mother Hen - Hahaha ... darn, you Gypsy woman you. I'll bet your predictions would come true if I sang that song to wifey! LOL!

No, really, I can be a pain to live with at times :D

  35. Meleah - My wife seems to think so too ... hahaha ...
