Too Much Hype ...

I don't normally blog about TV series cos I don't really watch TV all that much. I do have a few favourite shows that I simply cannot miss such as the CSI franchise minus the Miami one which I really cannot stomach because of that Horatio Caine character, then there's the Good Wife and Glee (but of course) and finally NCIS.

I've been watching NCIS since the day it first aired till the very latest (well, the latest in this country anyway) season and it's a pretty good show with a solid cast of characters that complement each other nicely. So yesterday, NCIS: LA made its debut.

There was this big hoohaa of a promotion for the series and I was eagerly waiting for the series to make its debut. The promotion campaign was horrible to say the least but I didn't let it influence my enthusiasm for the show. So yesterday I rushed home, finished what was needed to be finished and plonked myself in front of my TV set to catch the first episode.

I'm basing this on the original NCIS series, which I love so much and was expecting it to be a decent show. But how wrong I was. To say the show was a total predictable and unbelieving bore is putting it mildly. Both wifey (who is also an NCIS fan) and me were left shaking our heads in disappointment.

We wanted to turn off the TV and head to bed halfway through it but decided to finish watching it in the hope that it might just turn out ok. No such luck though. It was such a boring show and the cast were totally trying so hard to prove they could act (which they couldn't, mind you save for Chris O'Donnell who was the main lead), and they had zero chemistry with each other that totally ruined the entire anticipation I had for the show.

I would have had more entertainment value doing some adipex reviews or watching some silly old show on RTM (our national television station) and we all know how 'good' those shows on RTM are ... LOL! At least I know I won't be wasting my time catching it next week. All that hype that was given for it really didn't do justice at all but then I should have realized how bad it was going to be just by the bad promotional campaign alone!

Well, at least tonight I know for sure I'll be enjoying one of my favorite shows which is Glee :D What? You don't like Glee? Which universe are you from? LOL!

  1. Unfortunately, I'm one of those who dun like Glee. Sorry, it doesn't amuse me at all. I on the other hand love watching the CSI series, like in your case, except Miami because of Lt. Caine. *pft~ Hehe~ Never watch NCIS before, not gonna start yet. I'm starting to lose interest in American Idol too. But I never miss out America's Next Top Model kekekeke.

  5. Sadly Nick, I don't like Glee. But I do love watching the original NCIS with Mark Harmon. I have to agree, yesterday's NCIS LA was lousy but luckily I didn't put too much expectation on it.

Nick, do check out my blog when you have the time. I've got a little gift for you there. Enjoy!
