Four Eyes

Time really flies these days. There was a time not too long ago when I could boast of having a decent pair of eyes. That was not too long ago. But those days are gone. I've finally succumbed to having to walk into an optician and make myself a pair of reading glasses.

I've been putting it off for ages now but cannot avoid it anymore. I can hardly see small text anymore. They're all a blur to me. I've been straining my eyes in the name of vanity to avoid wearing glasses but not anymore. I can hardly see the text on my clients name cards. In fact I can hardly read my own name card!

So last week, after much prompting from wifey, I finally walked into an optician to have my eyes checked out for a pair of reading glasses. After the usual 'can you see this, can you see that' eye test session, the optician shook her head sadly and said there was no avoiding getting a pair of reading glasses ... siggghhh ...

At least the good thing is my long distance vision is still pretty good (for now anyway) and I wouldn't have to be wearing my glasses except when I'm reading. Unfortunately reading is something I tend to do a lot.

I used to pride myself as having a pair of pretty good eyes. All my friends were specky's for as long as I've known them. I've always teased them about it and now I've joined their ranks ... siggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ...

Oh well, there are just somethings you cannot escape from and aging is one of them. The good thing is, at least as I age I don't need any weight loss pills to control my weight. Oh ya, being a newbie with glasses, I cracked my lens already and had to send it in for replacement yesterday ... LOL!

Knowing me, I'm giving it two weeks before I sit on it or something and end up having to make a new pair! And if you asked wifey, she wouldn't be at all surprised that I'm capable of doing something as silly as that ... LOL!
