Pillows, Pillows, Pillows

I have a question to ask you. It's been something that has perplexed me for quite a while now. I've been trying to figure it out, rationalize it even but no matter how hard I think about it, I simply cannot find the answer to this question. In fact I don't think I will ever find the answer to this question. Maybe one of you might have the answer though.

Why, oh why do people put those darned pillows in the back of their cars? Seriously, what is the purpose of it? I'm trying to figure it out and just cannot come up with a reason for those pillows except for the fact that it blocks half the view of the driver and just looks plain silly. I've even seen some twice the size of the one you see below. In fact, I've seen a car with at least 8 of those pillows in the back even!

Somebody please enlighten me on the purpose of those pillows. I really want to know why people put them there. For decoration? To help soften the impact of the rear passengers head in case of an accident? To use it in case they need to pull aside and sleep? To muffle the sounds of the rear speakers?

Actually half of the things some people put in their cars are simply mind boggling. There are those who has the entire snow white and the seven dwarfs figurine collection along with the entire characters from Disney and the Transformers planted firmly on their dashboards. Then there are the ones that hang soft toys outside their cars on their exhausts or rear wipers that would simply even astonish Albert Einstein if he were alive.

The things some people do with their cars are enough to make me consider looking into my Medicare plan to make sure it's all in order cos I'm liable to blow a blood vessel one day just trying to figure out these things!

  5. Interesting question, Nick... but like you I can't figure out why would people keep the pillows there, (or soft toys for that matter!)

I kind of think they obstruct the view even more than tinted glass... (and most of the people I know who have all these toys, pillows etc are mainly the bimbo types... so it would be nice to see how they deal with summons) insert evil laugh here.

  6. I have pillows in my car but they are at the back seat for my son to use. :D

Beats me too on why there are pillows and soft toys there. I suppose that is how they want to decorate their car, after all if one is in KL, a car is almost like a second home judging by the amount of time we spent in our car daily.:D

  8. Maslight - Aiyooo, if I had to take a road trip and I was the one driving, I won't let my non-drivers sleep ... how can, somebody has to keep me awake ... hahaha!

Actually I read somewhere that it's illegal to have things hanging on cars but then with the level of our enforcement, people don't really bother.

  11. Terra - LOL! Bimbo types. I've seen guys do stuff like these too! But I think it's illegal by law cos I read it somewhere. But the way our authorities work, people can get away with murder even!

  12. Lina - You know, you've given me the nearest and best answer to my question cos you're right about the amount of time we KL people spent in our cars. Might be a good idea to even have our bolsters along with us ... LOL!
