Up, Up And Away ...

The price of goods have really increased and my measly salary doesn't even begin to cover it these days. I remember a time when I could do my grocery shopping for RM100 and get to buy practically the entire supermarket unlike these days when RM100 would only get you a pack or two of instant noodles! Ok, maybe a little more than that la but you know what I mean, right?

Once the electricity tariff rises next month, things will cost even more and trying to make my miserable ringgit stretch even further will be a stretch in itself. Sometimes I wonder how people less fortunate than me make it through life. I'm poor as it is and making ends meet can be tough, imagine the really hardcore poor.

The thing is, it makes me mad knowing that loads of people suffer through hardship and yet, we have the 'intelligent' people in the government spending ridiculous money on paying for free emails and setting up RM1.8 million Facebook pages ... siggghhh ...

Everything seems to just be going up and up and up with no sights of it stopping anytime soon and you get nonsense from the government that our prices are still the cheapest in SEA/Asia/Europe/The World/Planet Mars and such.

I don't give two hoots if the rest of the world pays more than us, all I want is to know that you people in power really take the peoples plight into consideration and not just want to fill your personal bank accounts so you can indulge in those exquisite gourmet dipped strawberries.

I really hope that come the next general elections, we vote for the right people and kick these bunch of doofusses out. After all, what have we got lose with voting for someone else. If they screw us again, we can always vote them out come the election after that. All we need is a change so let's be serious and make it happen, not that I think some people will play fair that is.

I know it's a weekend and we should be happy but forgive the rant. Weekends are when I have to do my grocery shopping and that means I'm going to pay more for goods that cost much less before which in turn will put my sporting goods shopping in the backseat. Now you see why I'm so pissed! LOL!

  2. Totally agree about seeking change through voting. The thing is the govt can save by abandoning certain projects (NS was cited as an example), as mentioned by KJ in article I read recently instead of making the people pay extra.

  3. I hear ye, I hear ye Nick! Let's vote for a change. We won't know if it's going to be for the better or the worst but at least, those thieves in power will realise the PEOPLE POWER!!! Don't play play with us.

  5. Terra - It really is time for a change. The darned government have got to stop thinking we're all stupid. I'm going to do my part in the next GE, I hope everyone else does too. We can't go on being swindled by the current batch of leaders. I have NO FAITH in them whatsoever!

  6. Wenny - We really have nothing to lose by voting in a change in government. After all, how much worse can the opposition be? I really hope the rest of the country thinks the same way as us. It's long due for a change.

  7. Even buying groceries for cooking a simple dinner at home can cost more than actually eating that particular dish outside!

  9. I have been wanting to blog about this for weeks after a trip to the market made me realise that everything from fresh chicken pieces to coconut milk had increased in price. Things are really getting expensive these days!
