The Smells Will Soon Be Wafting.

It's beautiful weather out there today. The kind of weather that makes yo want to take the day off and go for a nice long run somewhere and then come home and grabbing a nice long recovery nap ... LOL!

It finally rained pretty hard this morning, at least in my part of the world anyway. It's a much welcomed rain session which at least managed to clear some of that unhealthy air out there. The place looks so much clearer and even smells a heck of a lot better than the past few days.

Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to enjoy the outdoors at the moment cos I have some stuff that needs to be monitored in the office so all that beautiful freshly fallen rain is going to go to waste. When the weather is horrible and hazy, I have outside appointments, when it's nice and cool, I'm stuck in the office. What irony!

I had breakfast with wifey today at the Chinese shops nearby and we saw the roads outside the shops painted with white squares, which is a sure sign the fasting month is just around the corner. That section of road and the white squares are demarcation lines to cater for the Ramadhan bazaar and the place is going to be wafting with the smells of ayam perchik, ikan bakar, satay and whatnots soon.

While I love the Ramadhan bazaar food offerings, I'm going to have to control what I eat and not indulge too much, otherwise I'm going to have to run every single day, kilometers upon kilometers just to burn all that awesome food away. I think everyone actually puts on more weight during the Ramadhan season than on a normal day which is pretty amusing cos it's supposed to be the fasting month for the Muslims of this country, well at least the other races put on more weight anyway from all those goodies ... LOL!

Another things that is going to bug me is my running route in the evenings take me right smack past the Ramadhan bazaar and it's going to take a heck of a lot of will power just to not take a detour from my running path to the bazaar. Honey, if you don't see me running ahead of you, you know I'm somewhere in the bazaar chowing down some tasty ayam perchik or something ... LOL! Darn it, just talking about the food is making my mouth water!

Ok, I think enough about Ramadhan bazaars for now, I'd better start talking about reconditioned laptops or I'll just end up making my stomach growl!

  3. so true about how Ramadhan month is the month where people gain weight. I on the other hand, jog when I'm fasting, people call me crazy. But if I can run before break fast, why not? Less than 1km a day + sweat. It'll make me feel better ;D

  5. I missed the rain here in my neighborhood this morning. By the time I got up, it stopped but anyhow it's probably the reason why I overslept in the first place. I love the weather ... this is my kind of weather. If only it could be like this 365 days in the year.

Just in case you give in to the Ramadhan goodies, add more mileage!

by the way bro,,,,,,,,i am all for fasting, i used to fast once a week like 18 to 20 hours, thinking of going back to this practice again..

you have a great weekend and great run too, forgot to ask you this,,,,,,,are you coming to Penang for the Penang bridge run...........
