Sitting Out

Today is a first for me, running wise that is. This is the first time I paid to participate in a race and am sitting out of it on purpose. Well, not really on purpose but for a personal reason anyway.

Early Sunday morning, 3.00am, the PJ Dawn Half Marathon will flag off and I'll be fast asleep on my memory foam mattress and hoping all my running buddies will have a fun filled and most importantly safe race. I would have loved to have been there joining them for the race as the route is a pretty fast one and I was hoping to have brought down my half marathon personal best in this event.

But alas, that was not to be when I found out who was part of the organizing team. I signed up for this event the moment it was announced a few months back, way even before they actually announced who the organizers were. A smart move on their part if you ask me, cos if they did announced it early and people knew who was a part of the committee, they have a very low participation rate.

Well, to cut a long story short, the moment I discovered this person was part of the team, the wife and me decided we'd rather waste the entry fee than take part in this event. Looks like I'll just have to wait for another race to see if I can bring down my half marathon PB timing even more.

I'll be praying and hoping that the race will go through without any problems and that all the participants will come out of it having a good time. With that said and done, all the best to all the runners for the race tomorrow :D

  1. Whoa... never expected to hear something like that about running.

PS: Are you allowed to reveal the organiser's name, and why are they hated so much?

    1. I'm more than happy to reveal their name. But it boils down to one person whom I detest and that person is Josie Huang from Outbox Production.

I heard that they even screwed up this event and I'm glad I skipped it :D
