Forty Two Point One Nine Five

I did it! I ran my first ever marathon covering a total distance of 42.195 kilometers across the city of Kuala Lumpur in the wee hours of the morning with total success in a decent time of 5 hours, 20 minutes and 30 seconds. To say I'm overjoyed is an understatement. I was so emotional at the finish line, I almost cried.

 
Never in my wildest dreams did I even think that I would attempt a marathon and yet here I am finally completing one :D I had no targets, no goals, with only one thought, which was to cross that finish line in decent condition and in one piece.

To say I didn't suffer would be a lie, especially in the later stages of the marathon where I suffered horrendous cramping from the 30KM mark onwards. But I didn't let it stop me, I gritted my teeth and I plodded on gamely to the finish.

Crossing that finish line is going to be an experience I would cherish for a lifetime. I came away from it unscathed and am now eagerly looking forward to my next marathon which will likely be in three months time. Yes, I'm a sucker for punishment ... LOL!
