I've been on a 5 day running sabbatical and it's not over yet. I've still got at least one or two more self imposed running ban days to sit at home on my butt. It's not by choice, mind you. I've been having a horrible knee injury since last Sunday and with the Standard Chartered KL Marathon (SCKLM) just peeking around the corner, I decided that a weeks rest to heal the pain would be the best thing to do.
I don't think I want to ruin the chance of running my first marathon with an injury so close to race day. In fact, I have short distance race to run on the 17 of June, a week before the SCKLM and I'm eagerly looking forward to it. The month of May was a barren month, race wise and I'm happy that it's over cos the next few months are packed with races :D
But sitting at home on my butt and watching the wife head out the door for her training runs can sometimes be more painful than my injury, what with her taunting me and sometimes threatening me with bodily harm if I renegade on my self imposed running ban and follow her out ... LOL!
But on the serious side, I really needed the break from running to heal these battered legs. At least I managed to spend the time reading up on that ipod
touch sale catalogue I found in the postbox this evening.
