Deprived Childhood

My wife is probably gonna kill me for posting this but I just couldn't resist it :) You see, the other day when we went grocery shopping, she came across this, urrmm, Barbie lookalike doll and she said she just had to have it. I asked her whatever for and she said during her childhood she never had dolls like these to play with and so she bought it! In fact, a few rows down, she spotted some doll accessories and bought that too. Man, I was speechless :) The moment we reached home and after putting away all the groceries, she rushed up to the room, opened the packaging and started playing with the doll by dressing it up with its accessories and all that. You should have seen the look on her face, she looked just like a little girl again sitting on the bed happily playing with the doll. LOL!

I guess we all still do have that little child in us no matter how old we get, ya? I remember a couple of years ago, a good buddy of mine was ushering in the new year at my place. I think I was about 26 or 27 back then. It was such a boring new year for us that the next day we went out and bought this toy soldier set and actually started playing with it like little kids ... hehehe ... Imagine two big buffaloes sitting in my hall and waging war with those tiny soldiers. My mom thought we were both short of a few screws back then. LOL. But it was fun and to be honest, I sometimes play with my kids toys , yeah, yeah, I'm such a kid, so sue me ... hahaha ...

  2. Christmas "06" my son received Electronic Battleship. Now I had battleship as a kid, but not Electronic Battleship. I made "Z" play w/ me all the time. I think I over played it with him because he figured out that I could play against the computer and he hasn't played with me since!

I still love playing w/ toys..

  4. Okay, so I have the same "deprived" childhood also... I recently got married in March to this absolutely wonderful man and just a little bit over the Christmans holidays we were hanging out with his girl cousins. They asked me what Lem got me for Christmas and I said Elmos. They looked at me kind of funny because with all the Diva websites I do, they were expecting me to say Louis Vuitton shoes or something like that.

My honey asked me what I wanted and I said Elmos. At that time they were so hard to get so he actually ordered the English version, Spanish and German versions on Ebay and thinking that it wasn't going to get here in time of Christmas lined up on Christmas Eve at some megastore to get the last Elmo on the shelf.

So now I have 4 Elmos speaking 3 different languages! Best present ever!

  6. Hui Sen - I'm envious of you and your cartoon channels. I canceled mine cos the kids were spending way too much time watching cartoons than studying!

Diamond - wow, they have electronic battleships now, huh. LOL. I used to love that game. Countless hours of playing it with endless fun :) Now, I just gotta go get me one of those electronic versions too ...

Bobo - what's stopping you? Go out and get that little Pony already :)

Sharon - Four Elmo's that speak different languages, pretty cool gifts. But I'll bet the fact that he went thru all that trouble to get you the gifts makes it all the more priceless doesn't it :)

Mr. Badak - Nice of you to drop by :) Gosh, golly, gee, I love those remote control cars. I still do play with my kid's remote control cars and a host of their other toys much to their annoyance. LOL!

  11. LoL! I like reading this. Yes Every individual has his/her own inner child; we have adult and parent too. But yes, as children, we play and that's good for the heart. except when too much :D

And... ey, Philippine time, it's Fathers' Day! Happy Fathers' day.
