The Cleaning Man

I think my staff in the office are a little annoyed at me. I've been running around the office and sweeping and cleaning the entire place and getting in their way all afternoon ... LOL!

You see, I'm a cleanliness and neat freak. I hate to see the place I live or work in all messed up. I can probably stand the mess for a little while but after a while I'll just have to clean it up. The two people in my production team are assigned to clean up the place every day. They're suppose to each take turns to sweep and vacuum the place especially the production room every morning.

The production room tends to get messy during any ongoing project and I insist they clean up the place immediately after whatever project is completed. I seriously dislike working in a messy place. Now, while they do clean up after them, they don't really do a great job. I still find bits of papers here and there, masking tapes hiding under the tables, cutters strewn all over and whatnots.

I'm perpetually grumbling at them to pick up after them. Like I said, I'm a neatness freak. Today the place was a little more dirtier than I could stand. Even after telling them to clean it up, it still wasn't up to my specs, so what do I do? Well, my policy is, 'if you want to get a job done properly, then do it yourself'. So there I was all afternoon cleaning up the entire office.

The place looks spotless now with not a single piece of paper lying around. I wonder how long that will last though cos everyone aside from me is not at all fussy about the cleanliness of the office. I've always been a cleanliness freak since my childhood. All the things in my room were neatly arranged and so well organized to the point of being 'too' neat ... LOL! I grew up with a clan full of cousins and I'd get annoyed if any of them messed up anything of mine.

I like my surroundings neat. I don't like seeing piles upon piles of papers on my desk or cabinets. If you walked into my office right now and looked at the accounts girl's room and my partners room, you'd probably think I don't do any work in the office cos my room is so neat with nothing at all on my desk except a tray and my laptop. Everything else is neatly put away in my cabinet and shelf. Even the items on my side table is arranged neatly with everything in its proper place.

In fact, it's all arranged according to specific places that if you moved an item I would know immediately. I know it borders on being a little obsessive and compulsive but I can't help it, I'm cursed to being a neatness junkie ... LOL! Maybe I should take one of those Orlando vacations I've been reading and chill a little or one fine day, the staff here are going to lock me in the toilet and throw away the key!

  3. Oh gawd, I feel like a slob. Anyways, you also remind me of my close fren from JB. She's a neat freak, and my "personal maid" in college weeeeeeeeeee~ I mean I like my stuff all organized but I tend to get lazy also. I'm not messy either. I'm just a bit of both :)

  7. LOL! I can relate.

My things in my room (especially clothes) are always arranged in such a way and it's a dead giveaway when I see a dress facing the other side or not colour coordinated :P
