I Don't Feel Safe

Unless you've been living on a deserted island or under some rock or been busy looking for hp coupons, you'd know this country is fast becoming an unsafe place to live in. I fear for the safety of my family and myself. Every other day, we hear of people getting rob, assaulted, bashed up, raped and whatnots that it worries me a lot.

It's come to a point that when I drive home, I'd look around very carefully making sure there are no suspicious characters lurking around before stepping out to open my gate and drive in. And even then I'd hurriedly close and lock the gates and get into the house as fast as I can.

I've heard of people being robbed and assaulted while going into their own homes. I've heard of private security guards guarding gated residences being attacked and it's really frightening me. It's not save living in this country anymore.

Where are the cops? What are they doing to arrest this issue? Are we supposed to live in perpetual fear and distrust of everyone? Are the people in the ruling regime even bothered about this?

Are we not important at all? Is our safety of no concern to them? Then again, if you asked certain ministers in the government, they'd tell you that the crime we having are all just a perception and that we're just imagining things ... siggghhh ...

It's easy for them to just say things like that, they've got constant body guards and security people all around them 24-7. What have we got? They should try living like the rest of us. Do away with their security personnel, body guards and whatnots and see what it's like to live in fear. Then maybe, just maybe, they'd understand how we common people feel.

That is why folks, we need to vote them out. We need a better life and sure as hell with them in power, we will never get it. So please, do your part and vote wisely when the time comes. Remember, the power is with the people.

  1. I fear for my safety too. You know when I was in KL for the marathon, I'd look around me just to make sure I wasn't being followed. Totally creeps me out. And lately I've been seeing a lot of those assault/robbery and all those related posts on facebook, it's freaking me out. >.< It's not safe! I'd like to ask the same question, where is the police?! Why aren't people doing anything to prevent this? Sad oh.

    1. The Police are busy doing 'other people's' bidding which is why us common fold are left to cower in fear.

  3. Yikes, I just finished posting something about crimes in our country. A weird coincidence that i should come here right after doing that. Btw, I just found out that the wikipedia entry for parang mentions that it's the weapon of choice for robbers in Malaysia!
